I personally think 7:00 on a saturday night is a fantastic! but lets say the bbc did move it to a diffrent day or time.. where would you like to see it?

I think Sunday's 8:00 would be good

NOOOOOOO then it would clash wih top gear when it comes back. LOL.

Also sundays at 8 is a little bit late when its mainly aimed at kids. (altho i bet more adults watch it)

I can only see it working weekday nights if they extended it to an hour and put it out at 7:30 on a night that it didn't clash with Corronation Street.

45 minutes is awkward for a weekday programme unless they started at 8pm on Wednesday and had the lottery afterwards, but then they'd lose all the merchandise-loving kiddies.

Somehow I don't think it would be as popular on a Sunday. When Barrymore used to flip between Saturday and Sunday evenings I think it always got a bigger audience on Saturdays.

How about a 30 minute episode on Saturday and Sunday instead of one 45 minute show each week?

I swear that some people who post on this forum are tv researchers! Not saying that you are AfterToday but with some posts it seems that way...

I know what you mean...

Anyway, I love the slot it's in and wouldn't like to see it changed. In fact, the only reason for them to change the slot at all is if it loses lots of viewers, imo.

I'm sure saturday 7pm was one of the key points in the pitch by RTD to the bbc for the series- it was published in a DW mag special last year. (Which, okay, I've since lost so can't confirm this 100%.)

Cannot see it changing.

Timeslot is ok, only thing I'd change is the time of year it's broadcast to start of January or start of September when it's still dark during in the evening.

A few weeks into the last series it was light out side with good hot weather - it didn't feel right staying in to watch DrWho, I had to video it and watch after dark

The minute you start tinkering with the day and timeslot usually marks the beginning of a downward spiral..remember the 80's. The only time it was successfully moved was during the Davison era. Leave it on Saturdays where it belongs.

Dr Who IS a Saturday night family show. It would be suicide to move it to any other time of the week.

With the rubbish that is on a Saturday THAT very fact gives the show even more clout.

I second that one Stuart. Wouldn't be a Saturday evening without Who in the schedules.

Yep, Saturday evenings IS for Doctor Who, no other day would make sense. Neither would splitting it into two 30-min episodes (would probably destroy the pacing), although a 60-min episode might be better (some 45-min stories seemed a little rushed at times).

I agree with you. Some stories seem to fit the 45min format but there are some which I think could have done with being 60mins as they would've been paced better.

It was suicide in the 80s. No, it has to be Saturday evening.

And in response to the OP, definitely NOT Sunday at 8pm. The Heartbeat/Where the Heart Is/Other Boring Crap With "Heart" In The Title timeslot? And people complained that there was too much Jackie and Mickey last year!

"I don't do domestic." Now who said that...?

What about half hour episodes for a one story over a weekend?

Friday 7:00 Part 1
Saturday 7:00 Part 2
Sunday 7:00 Part 3

Seems to be sometime in April, although nothing has been confirmed.

Can't see that working either - people need one episode a week to make it real 'appointment to view' TV... and that's what it achieved last year.
