Crystal Palace - Wrong Time!
Pop Roberts
12-02-2006
Is it just me, or is the current time signal on the Crystal Palace digital transmission (as displayed on my DHD4000) one hour slow?

I've tried power cycling (no difference) and then power cycling and switching on with no antenna attached to remove the current time and date, but when the antenna is reinserted and signal acquired the date is correct but the time is one hour slow. I assume this is down to incorrect data from Crystal Palace?

Comments welcome!

Hi,

it seems to be widespread, there's a thread in the Freeview forum, so it's not just Thomson boxes or CP.

I've tried unplugging and rescanning, and all I've managed to do is lose my scheduled recordings.... bah.

Thanks Steve. If they don't correct the time signal the timed recordings probably won't have gone off at the right times anyway! I hope you didn't have too many to have to remember and re-insert.

Hi,

yeah, at least I noticed it before it mucked up the recording.

Hopefully they can fix it quickly.

Cheers

Sutton Coldfield is the same....

Going out tonight and want to record Top Gear, Invasion, Virgin Queen and PetrolHeads Which was a pain to schedule anyway to circumvent the overlapping recording bug...

what do I do? what if I shedule the programs to record at the "wrong" time only for them to fix the timestamp in the meantime?

Yep, same here (Sandy Heath Tx), missed half of Scrappy Races as recording didn't start

Seems to be back with the correct time now.

Ok on Crystal Palace at 18:56, but was messed up at 16:00 ... Enterprise on Ch4 is actually watchable and I wondered why the record light wasn't on.

What they seem to have done as a short term fix is to set the signal to say that BST is active so it may well show the "right" time but if the Thomson is operating anything like the Fusion 4TV boxes the EPG display (which is in GMT) is still one hour out.
