I have been recieveing calls from someone all day and when I answer, its sounds like a payphone playing 3 bleeps every few seconds and then when I ring the number back, it rings for second or two and then hear clicking sound.

The number is a Bradford number and is allocated to Telewest following checks at ukphoneinfo.com, I rang Telewest and they said they won't tell me who owns it because its against data protection.

The three bleeps who hear, is when someone is trying to send you a fax, this is to indicate to people that a fax is being sent, and for you to press start or you fax machine.

Why when you call it back you get clicking noises instead of fax screech, I don't know.

I contacted Cable and Wireless operator services and said its a public payphone. (Infolines public networks/Interphone). They said its on a Telewest line and they still have the database since it used to be one of Cable and wireless's payphone sites(Mercury payphones).

I don't know anyone in Bradford!

Since its a payphone heres the number:
