I'd be more concerned if RTD took the series in a direction that meant it lost its audience and was once again quickly cancelled.
I'm not for one moment saying I consider everything in Series 1/TCI to be perfect, but I do think consideration needs to be made for the fact that new Who is never going to be the same as classic Who. It's a reboot for a 21st century audience - one I think which has been remarkably successful in keeping many of the best elements of the classic series whilst attracting a whole audience and moving the drama forward.
I'm also intrigued that some people can be so dismissive of RTD's work on Who. Not only has he written his own scripts for the series, he created the whole 'flow' of the series in terms of the stories which made it up, and has had a serious amount of oversight and input into how the whole series
has been put together.”

I was interested in your response. I didn't feel the need to answer on behalf of the other person but as this is an open forum I was just adding my thoughts to the mix.
Just because I question things or offer constructive criticism to the debate it doesn't make me any less of a fan of the series. I just choose not to be blinkered by my devotion to the series or see things through rose (no pun intended!) glasses. No series, no matter how good the production values, the writing etc is above and beyond some healthy debate and discussion.

Very good.
