I don't know what you mean.

For me it wasn't really about the "next time" feature it was all about the tacky and clumsy way in which it was done. It didn't fit in with the style of Emmerdale atall, I'm surprised that ITV could afford not to advertise their next programme straight away for a few episodes.

I believe that this "next time" feature wasn't permanent anyways and has now gone although I haven't seen the Emmerdale credits to confirm this but that's what some people were saying on here.

I apologise, I thought you were trying to say all Next Time/Previously sequences were tacky and desperate. This is the reason for me pointing out that many BBC dramas use it

No it works on some programmes i.e. The Bill but it didn't seem to work on Emmerdale because normally it's all pretty fast paced but the one I saw on Emmerdale just had Viv talking.

Well I like the idea of a Previously sequence for the soaps, but not Next Time. Also I would probably change it so it's like other dramas and have the show in this format:

PREVIOUSLY -- short opening scene/scenes lasting 2-5 mins -- OPENING TITLES -- rest of episode

It works best the way that The Bill do it because when it's just in a small box it doesn't really work for me.

The Bill has a theme tune which makes the whole thing seamless, whereas I don't think Corrie, Emmerdale and EE do.

LOL it's back... you'll never escape the Next Time sequence! I finally saw it tonight, it's stupid how they only show 1 scene

It's not! I missed it. I seriously thought it would be temporary. Oh dear...

Just wait till it spreads to Corrie

I know, it's just tacky and awful because it really does not work atall.

If that happened I would seriously consider not watching at all.

You'd just need to like have the remote ready and switch over the second the episode ended I guess

Maybe. It's not as if I stay to watch the bland blue credits anyway.
