I am currently looking for a good quality 32 inch CRT. The Panasonic TX32PD50 and Loewe Nemos 32 look promising. However concerns have been expressed about the reliability of the Loewe CRTs. Does anyone have any experiences of these TVs?

The PD50 was the replacement for my set (PD30) but has been discontinued for some time now. Whilst I love my TV and it does have an exceptional picture there were a lot of people who complained about the picture quality "out of the box" (ie not a fault that developed over time). The one downside I have to agree with other people on is that it is not great at handling RGB signals. For me this isnt an issue as all my sources are converted to component which the TV was well reported as being its forte.

Loewe are an extremely good brand but unfortunately you do pay a significant amount of money for the badge on the front (even more than the likes of Sony). Whilst I only briefly had a loewe set (was baby sitting it) it was very good. Like all items which are pushing the bounds of technology you pay a premium to be a guinee pig for them and it doesnt always go 100% right. I have known people to have issues with their sets but like the PD range it tends to have been an out the box issue rather than reliability. With a brand like Loewe you would expect the after sales service to be excellent and a couple of people who have needed it all reported the same - but it is probably far too few people to definitively state that they are reliable and excellent after sales service if it does go pear shaped.
