I'm confused by your first post. If Sean's number was put under Bonnie, surely that means he got her votes????

No!! They had put Bonnies number with Seans name so when people voted for Sean it said thanks for voting for Bonnie.

As I said during Barrowgate affair, maybe ITV need to give Simon Cowell or the BBC call. They can show ITV how to run a successful voting system for these types of shows.

I don't know about that.

A lot of people suspected that the votes had been fiddled on their shows as well.

I don't know the technicalities of the voting system but, I wouldn't be supprised if there was a similar "blunder" when John & Olga went.

On This Morning the following Monday, whilst interviewing John, Phillip Schofield said that it was down to the last few seconds of voting that put John & Olga in the Skate Off. Apparently, just as the lines were closing, someone said in his ear piece "It's all changed!" and, as the screen renewed its self, suddenly they were in the bottom two. Now, with the scores they got off the judges (they were in third place), which counts as half the total result (right ?), and the public voting in their thousands, how could just "one or two votes" have made that much difference? Surely that's down to a technical fault or human error. Either way I don't understand it, so if anyone could shed any light on this please feel free.

Think you might be right. But that sucks for whoever does win coz it wont be because they were the best skater or even most popular, but just coz it was rigged to go that way.

But it's never the ones that win these things that get remembered anywayz. Look at that Chico guy. I'm sick of the sight of him. I assumed he'd won whatever show he was on but apparently not. Don't know who did. Don't care.

On X Factor, when Brenda lost out on a place in the final to Andy, it was a declared a fix by some Brenda fans. When Journay South ended up 3rd, it was delcared a fix by some JS fans, when Andy finished 2nd, it was declared a fix by some Andy fans!! So maybe not so much .....though personally I ascribe most of it to sour grapes, though maybe not so much in the case of Sean, who seems to have suffered from real injustice!

I know they'd never consider this as they'd lose too much revenue but my idea would be to abolish the telephone voting system and open the doors of the show to the General Public and let them vote in a similar way to Ready Steady Cook...With cards which could be counted by an Independant Adjudicator.

At least it would represent a cross section of the public!!!

Alas I fear that there is no way any other form of voting would be considered so we'll just have to make do with the injustices that this system throws up...

Proberbly most votes are genuine but the ones that bring up the cries of its rigged are I believe are ratings boosters as it gets people doing what we are doing talking about it and tuning in no way on this earth was John's a real elimination in these shows they always get rid of the threat to the person they want to win (bonnie ) in X- factor it was Maria who had to be got rid of as she was getting more popular than Shayn

But then they wouldn't profit from premium telephone calls!

As said in my opening sentence. It's a shame that it all boils down to money isn't it??

I know on DS it's the common opinion that the final will have Bonnie winning, but the more I watch and the more spouting off about gold medals and Olympian winner - I do think they are trying to make Kelly the winner. Oh, how I wish I am wrong (my opinion only of course).

Again, i do support Bonnie 20million% (go Bonnie!) but also the first night was the night after Big Brother which uses the same numbers and guess who had ***** 32 32 01 as well as Bonnie - you guessed it CBB4 winner Chantelle. Bon was brill and great but just giving you all sides of the story!

the public voting on this is a pure farce anyway. why bother?

if the judges have a favourite (and they seem to), they will award them high marks every week.

let's say the public aren't so keen on this favourite, they don't vote so the person in question ends up in the skate-off.

what happens then? well the judges just keep their favourite of course.

seems to me that if the judges have final say, they should have NO CONTRIBUTION towards the scoring leading up to that (just their comments) - it should be entirely public vote who decides the bottom two, and then the judges get their say

Leave it all to the judges, it will save the saddo voters loads of money.
