US/UK speaker connection difference?
Hello all,
Can anyone tell me if the speaker to Amp connection leads used in the US is the same as the UK? (the basic Hi-Fi +/- Copper wires!?) and also whether there would be any other technical considerations when purchasing some speakers from the US to use here? (such as Impedance etc...) Thanks in advance. |

They are identical as John states
Impedance needs to match your amps capability - the lower the "louder" the music will be but the more pressure it will put on the amp Sensitivity - is as (if not more) important on working out how "loud" your system will be as the wattage of the amp Wattage handling - again needs to match the amp at the speakers impedance. Having an amp that is either too powerful or not powerful enough can cause problems (though surprisingly too weak an amp is more likely to cause damage than too high) |
