Do standard DivX DVD players play WMV files?

I have a few WMV files which I have created in Movie Maker and I'd like to stick em on disc, does anyone know if a DivX DVD player will play them cos I don't really wanna hafta convert them!

download a divx player and see if it works

or burn a dvd, try it and if it dont then it answers your question

Startlingly simple answer but I dont wanna coaster a DVD cos I've hardly got any left

100 dvd+r's? for a tenner
hmm tempting

r they branded?

anyways 100 is still less than 20p each so try your last dvd and if it aint aving it then buy the 100 from raymogy and you're a happy man again

Use a re-writable.

By the way, I suspect WMV files will not play. They don't on my Yamada or Pioneer DIVX players.

See if you can find a bit of free software to convert the files to DIVX. I'm in Linux land so I use Mplayer but I'm sure there are lots of apps that can make a valid DIVX from any input file.

use nero to convert them to dvd format if they are long, else google for gordian knot as it is a suite of converters i use

how to you convert to wmv btw? as i stay away from wmv if possible

avi's and mpegs are easier to work with.
