Guess we won't be seeing any films set in New York anymore. Best not film there in case it upsets families of victims of 9/11..

I have every sympathy with the poor mother still searching for her son's body, but to suggest that the moors be treated as some sort of exclusion zone is ridiculous.”

It is forty years this year, since these grotesque murders of innocents took place. Is this an anniversary we want to mark with tacky TV? There is already a controversial ITV drama on the murders due on screen soon, which the families will have to suffer. A little more sensitivity from the Corrie producers, would, I'm sure, have been welcome.

Well, I am going to wait and see how it looks on telly.

Unfortunately, no matter how much some people would like to, we can't block out the real world. Cars travel across (and no doubt, break down on) the moors every day. It's a non-story as far as I'm concerned, and only blew up because of The Sun contacting the victim's mother.

A voice of reason amongst all this chaos.

and how did they get it back out of the lake or even into the park in the first place???

Live82005 and Pconno1: by the content of your messages, I guess you're both young, and therefore are not parents yourselves; perhaps your own parents wouldn't share your views.

You are both wrong in your assumptions (at least in my case).

As a matter of interest, are you going to watch the episode(s) in question?

Best post of a bad lot.

So far we know is that Sally and Rosie are driving through the moors on the way to boarding school and they have a blazing arguement causing the car to veer of the road. I see know connections to the murders.

This arguement is really along the same lines as the "poor white trash" debate (which a verdict hasn't been anonounced be Ofcom yet) - they are both non-starters.

The Sun has properly sought out this woman and paid her cash to stand by a fence with a hankie. Okay, she has suffered a terrible ordeal but there is no reason to make the whole of the moors an exclusion zone for filming. Didn't the BBC make a recent Sherlock Holmes feature length filmed on the moors? Was a fuss made? No. This is all just the Sun telling what to think and how to feel and a few of you are gullible enough to accept it.

I find some of the corrie fans comments like '' who cares it was filmed on the moors'' it was 40 years ago get over it''
a disgrace.

Do you posters have no shame.

ITV Should be hanging their heads in shame. This is a crime that shocked this country to its core and it still brings up hard feeling and upset so to say ''so what it was years ago'' is in very bad taste.

One hell of an evil stunt and no doubt it will cost them soon enough.

So is no-one allowed to film on the moors as scene that resembles nothing of what happened 40 years ago? That seems to be what you ... and the Sun ... are suggesting.

The Moors Murders were a terrible thing , the pain still obviously lingers for those left behind ,especially the Mother who does not know the location of her sons body.

But I really do not belive that Corrie set out for publicity or to deliberately cause harm or disrespect in anyway. This is The Sun , yet again stirring up crap and trouble and inferring there was disrespect where thyere was none. The Sun if they thought this was disrespectful would have been better having a word with Granada and pointing it out, but then that would not sell papers would it. The only person who gets hurt buy all of this is the Mother for whom they dragged it back to the forefront again and just to sell papers. Granada may be guilty of stupidity but The Sun is guilty of deliberate intrusion , and causing as much pain as possible for a few more sales.

You only have to look at their pictures of British Troups apparently beating civilians in iraq. They failed to show that seconds before they weer being bombed , and attacked by rioters and this was a snatch squad removing the ring leaders , another paper did show the whole picture , thankfully. I am not condoning it , but at least the other papwer showed it in context.

As for filming on the moors , well Wire in the Blood did show scenes where there were bodies buried on some moors , very similar to the Hindley Brady case , and that did not cause such an outcry , why ? because The Sun chose not to make it one.

That's very much how I feel. In a million years I will never have any comprehension of the pain she has been through, but I highly suspect she's been fed a story by The Sun that had little or no bearing on what was actually filmed to get appropriate quotes

It is the Corrie fans on here are too young or just ignorant to understand both in some cases.

Yes but why should they be ashamed (like you said on the other thread) for filming on the moors a scene with no direct relevance?
