Plenty of shows film on the moors and just because the Sun decides to make a fuss a few people are in uproar. If the Sun says it, it is must be right!

No, I am not a parent, but I don't see how that makes my opinions inferior to yours? I do feel for the woman, and I only object to The Sun who has sensationalised a story to sell copies. No other reason. They pretend to show compassion but it's clear why they did what they did. You don’t know what's happened in my life and please, do not assume you do, and whilst I can safely say I have never been in that poor woman's position, it's apparent that neither have you. So in future, please respect my opinions as I have tried to respect yours, and don’t treat my posts as if they are of less importance than yours, just because I have no children. I thank you.

YOu feel as if you know her problem and are fighting for her side. Yet when I ask you a question for how you and every else who sees this as an uproar, I am called ignorrant. How do you explain this? If you don't know how she is feeling then you can't be arguing for her.

All your posts in this thread have been utterly pointless and haven't really contributed much to the discussion; all you seem to be able to say is 'Utter disgrace'.

Please explain what is so wrong with this storyline I'm completely at a loss to understand your reasoning - you keep saying it's wrong, but don't actually say what you object to - and also why is it so wrong for Corrie to film on the Moors, when plenty of other companies/programmes have used it as a location previously, they're not exactly setting a precident.

Speaking as the family of the first victim I'd just like to say the upcoming drama "See no Evil" we were approached two years ago on this project and have been kept informed throughout. Having met the writer Neil McKay and even invited to watch filming and meet the people involved. We have had nothing but courtesy and consideration from Granada on this particular project. We did it not as suffrage but as remembrance. Don't forget if Brady and Hindley had gone on trial and ended seven weeks earlier they would have faced the death penalty. I'm sure your families are important to you as are ours to us.

I agree, I mean why do they deserve the bafta? It should be based on last year, and it was pretty lackluster.

Judging by your antics in this weeks BARB ratings thread your the last person who should be saying things like this.
Also people can have an opinion or unless you love Corrie is that not allowed?

I also have problems with the timing of this and the reasons as to why they picked that area.

So, you're just joining in to have a Corrie bash, irrespective of the actual subject matter.

There are lots of locations which could have been used for this story line Derbyshire for instance. No one is trying to say Saddleworth Moor should never be used for filming of course it should. I was up there last week as I had to go to Leeds and it was on the way. It's a beautiful piece of countryside BUT I would have thought knowing of the 40 year anniversary of the Moors murders a little more thought could have been used. I'm not sure what the actual storyline is the Sun says kidnap but do we all believe the Sun?....I hope they're wrong.

I just read though all your posts. Sorry for your loss and I agree as it is 40 years you would have thought they could have picked another location just out of respect.

Saddleworth Moore is not far from Manchester, so it is a logical place to be chosen. The producers of Corrie may or may not have chosen it because of its 1960s connections, but it could quite easily be because it is a logical and convenient location. I think there may be too many Sun Readers jumping to too many conclusions.

QUESTION:

If the Sun hadn't have put this story in the papers, how many people would have actually made the connection between the two?

As far as I can see, Corrie have put a scene or two on the moors, and since the Sun have made this connection, they're trying to make it look like Corrie have no shame and that they're 'doing it for the publicity'.

I feel sorry for the poor people who it happened to, I couldn't imagine losing my baby, but at the end of the day, it's not like Corrie are remaking 'The Moor Murders' is it?
