Anyone remember this girl group? They were kinda big in the late 90s and hits with Hey DJ, We Come To Party, Telefunkin and the awesome Boom Boom!?

Oh my God, I nearly choked when I saw the title of this thread! I thought I was the only person in the world who knew they existed, they seem to have been forgotten.
I loved them, have their album and often play a few tracks from it, which is rare for me as I kinda shove albums from bands who weren't that big and no longer exist to the bottom of the pile (with exceptions, of course). ![]() We Come To Party was amazing, and Summertime on the album should've been a single. |

Oh my word they are my favourite two songs on the album (I have their album All Day Every Day aswell).
Hi there, yeah I loved this girl group, don't really remember when they first came out, I suppose all girl groups then at that time were overshadowed by the Spice Girls. They rocked!!! Ah it's great to meet someone else who liked them! |

Unfortunately, Wikipedia's page on "N-Tyce" is about the Wu-Tang Clan, so there's no info about the group.
But I found where their singles charted. Jul 1997 - Hey DJ! (Play That Song) 20 Sep 1997 - We Come To Party 12 Feb 1998 - Telefunkin' 16 Jun 1998 - Boom Boom 18 Which was pretty good! Girl Groups would probably kill for four consecutive Top 20 hits these days. But they'd still get dropped, too. And you're right, it was just when the Spice Girls were the hugest of the huge. Shame, really. I'm remembering....Donna, Michelle, Chantelle and the bird with the gruff accent. Ah, the memories. |

I loved Boom Boom.
Ooh baby ooh baby They could have been big. The Spice Girls ruled the charts at the time and the next big girl group after them was Eternal but they were dwindling at the time. N-tyce were beginning to get more popular and then..........along came All Saints. But I loved All Saints so I can't complain. Geri Halliwell mentions N-Tyce in her autobigraphy If Only, she said that she was staying in the hotel that Chantelle's dad owned and he was very good to her because she had said good things about N-Tyce on tv. |

A bit of treat for you all - the video to Telefunkin'! Hurrah.
![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h74_NnChNtI Unfortunately, the video seems to be out of sync with the music for some reason. Pants. |

You have to wait for it to load. Pause it, wait for the grey bar to get a fair bit along then press play and it should be fine.
![]() It's the only video of there's I've ever seen. Stupid music channels. |

Oh my word, I'm such a genius. After a bit of hunting, I've managed to track some (albeit very small and very short) clips of their first two videos. Long enough to give you the vibe of the whole thing, anyhow.
Hey DJ We Come To Party Hurrah. |

I love the Telefunkin' song it's like an earlier version of "Booty Call" from All Saints, We Came To Party should have been bigger too..... still looking for the CD.

I saw them supporting Boyzone at Wembley
they were pretty good, but unfortunately (as happens with most support acts) no-one was interested in the girls..... it was Boyzone that everyone wanted!

That is true, a case of always the bridesmaid never the bride.
N-Tyce were overshadowed by the Spice Girls and then All Saints and to a certain degree Eternal aswell.
