what is better lcd or plasma As I see it Plasma is mainly for sets 37" and above and LCD's are for sets below 37", but that is a rough guide. Plasma, which suffers from screen burn, is said to be 'on its way out' while LCDs do not suffer from screen burn. I have only been studying HDMI for about five months and as a result of what I have read I am not interested in Plasma. More infor. http://www.plasma-vs-lcd.com/plasma-lcd-tv-y.htm I will most probably buy one of the following LCDs when the HD boom has settled. Toshiba 37WLT58 - Two HDMI sockets. Crackling speakers reported on some. Panasonic TX32LXD52 Panasonic TX32LXD500 Sony Bravia KDLV32A12 All of these TV's are discussed in considerable depth on the following forum. http://www.avforums.com/forums/index.php Find your way to LCD Televisions. At the present time HD Ready TV pictures are inferior to Crt (Cathode Ray Tube) because, as you know, HD is not yet available. It has been said that they have built a road without there being any cars to use it. They call it future proofing. Most TVs in stores are displaying DVD pictures which look very good, but ask them to show you analogue or Freeview so that you get a feel of what to expect. Even better, try and watch fast moving action which will probably reveal motion blur. No amount of fiddling with setup will overcome this, but HD will, when it comes. I have Sky digibox and when HD is here I expect to have to renew my box for one costing about £400.00 and to pay an exta £10.00 per month for the privilage of using it. No one will know the real cost until Sky launch in April or thereabouts. The answer is to keep your money in your pocket until you are satisfied with what you are going to get for it. At the moment CRT is the best. I wish you well. Last edited by Emrys Davies : 17-02-2006 at 12:16. |
