Famous for songs like
Wish I had the wherewithall

Gaye

I fell in love with an airline hostess

He often appeared on top of the pops, singing his gentle, lyrical songs and playing the guitar
his long hair, way past shoulder length.

He was nt your average rocker,
He was far more poetic and introspective... feminine even.

He almost invented his own genre of music,
songs that are romantic, sentimental, wistful
often with orchestra and strings backing.

Sadly at the height of his success and fame he was struck down with MS and after a long illness he died age 57. But what a wonderful legacy he has left behind.
