Should Alex Ferns play a Bond villian
Simon Jackson
17-02-2006
I wonder if Alex Ferns who played Trevor in EastEnders would ever fit the role as a Bond villian. He could play a guy who beats up girls (Little Mo, Big Mo, Kat, Donna) and cheats on them like Trevor did and works for the main villian in the film and James Bond catches him and then they go for a puch up and a shooting match (with Bond's PPK) at the local pub. Would it work?

no haha - there's no way some lowly soap actor (who couldn't act remem ber) would ever get in a bond film hahaha

Alex Ferns (along with Will Thorpe from Casualty) is appearing in a play at my local theatre in June, which I have booked to see.

I have seen other soap actors on the stage and they have been surprisingly good:Zoe and Chris Tate from Emmerdale, to name just two.

Jeff Hordsley was in a play called On Tour I went to see last year, and the character he played was just like Cain Dingle... couldn't tell them apart.

Alex Ferns is a great actor in my opinion and he made what has been described as one of the best and most realistic portrayals of domestic abuse on television in recent years believable.

They did not play the parts like Chris and Zoe; it was a historical setting. I suspect this thread will have long disappeared by June, so I will be unable to give a review!

I think he'd be a really great Bond Villain, he's got that glint of psychotic in his eyes that really gives you the shivers.

And remember Robert Carlisle was a Bond Villain and he's a bit like Alex Ferns - Short and Scottish

I was thinking the same thing - as long as the actor doesn't think he might be typecast, I think he'd be great.
