Emmerdale 19th/February 2006
Alice panics when she hears the baby making strange noises and goes straight to the hospital accompanied by Del. The doctor assures her that everything is fine and that the noises are normal but an emotional Alice pours out all of her fears and self doubts to Sam. Alice explains that she can’t imagine seeing Samson grow up and is scared of losing him. Can Sam offer her any comfort?
Meanwhile, Betty and Dr Forsythe pay a visit to Terence’s ex-wife Janice in person. Janice looks frightened and shuts the door on them. The pair are surprised when a policeman turns up and tells them that there’s an injunction out on Terence and they should leave Janice alone. Back at the village, Betty goes to see Turner to tell him about the injunction, proving Terence is a bad lot. Will Turner finally accept that there is more to his son than meets the eye? I don't want to step on anybodies toes (Drifter etc) but I couldn't find a thread for the episode.

I like the way Betty, even though we know she was there with the best intentions to help Alan, still sounded, when talking to Tel's ex, like a nosy parker desperate for juicy gossip! It was the way she spoke, and I assume it was deliberate, not to sound sort of gently coaxing in a polite way, but just plain like the nosey parker she is.
And I'm afraid I'm getting bored with Alice and her storyline now! I can understand what they're doing, making it look 'real', but just like with a lot of 'serious issue' storylines that are shown just as they'd happen in real life, they're just not entertainment, and part of the fun of soaps is the escapism from the harsh realities of life! They ARE simple entertainment, after all, at the end of the day. Fact is, illness storylines are tedious and boring to watch after a while, whereas violent ex-husbands storylines are fun and enjoyable to watch at all times!

I wish Alice and Sam had never returned. Their storylines were boring even when she wasn't ill

Anyways I enjoyed the Terrence storyline tonight but I'm just getting bored of the Sam and Alice storyline now. The Hope/Dingle scenes were OK. Overall an OK episode.

Terry, the way he is losing his hair is morphing into Sean Williamson AKA Barry Evans. A nice episode though.
