Siemens C35i Crapped Out
Digital.Diablo
15-08-2002
I have several Siemens C35i which have crapped out on me.

I have 2 work ones and one personal one (only 1 is actually registered to me).

My Phone works (just) but if it's knocked, it will come up saying 'Card Error' and then needs a reboot. Also, it can take about 20 remove/inserts of the sim card to get it working again.

My Colleges Work phone just comes up all the time saying, please insert Sim Card (we know the SIM works as we have tried it in another phone).

Finally, my Colleges home Siemens C35i doesn't accept her O2 Sim card, but will accept one of our work Yodafone Cards (although it doesn't go all the way thru, as I think its network barred).

We have put all the sim cards in a Motorola T280 and it recognises them, so it must be the phones, but has anyone else experienced similar faults. I have tried cleaning the sim contacts, and using compressed air to blow out any dust on the internal sim contacts, but to no avail - Could this model really be this crappy??

HELP.

I had a C35i for just over a year before the screen went doo-lally on me. Random crap all the screen, was rather annoying.

Replaced it with the bizarre Sony CMD-J5.

I will now in future always buy a Nokia (unless they go bankrupt and disappear of the face of the earth). A friend of mine bought a Sony something (new) and within 4 months, it keeps getting super hot and crashing. His friend's one (the same model) has started crashing as well

Never had any problems with a Nokia, and neither has anyone I have ever known (apart from the obvious technical problems associated with 'river drops' and 'weight of car on screen' faults). "Nokia, Connecting people 100% of the time".

my M35i is buggered as well. The battery lasts 6 hours/ or 5minutes if phoning.

It is doing a network search about 80% of the time. Arghhh.

I don't want a Nokia becaus ethey are too common, I want something a bit different.

I ended up giving up on my C35i just about a year ago now. I thought it was an excellent phone when I first got it about two years ago but I dropped it, not on concrete but on the carpet about twice and the phone was fecked. :'(

I'm still using my Phillips Diga!

Got the unlimited free calls to one landline number still, and going strong.

Just replaced the battery after over 3 years of regular use for £8.95.

I'm just glad I didn't go for that daft free calls hack when they were all the rage.

The phone's a bit limited, but the free calls have saved me thousands, and it's always been very reliable.
