Good Afternoon all,

I setup my new toy yesterday but I am not sure if I've done it the best way.

I've connected both the aerial cable and the scart cable from the back of the Sagem ID60 box to the Philips HDRW720 but is this the best way? When I tuned the HDRW720 it found 8 channels from the aerial cable (It's not a digital tuner as far as I know), one of which was a really poor quality feed of my freeview channels from the sagem box, I also am able to get a clear picture from my freeview box through the EXT2 channel and scart socket on the back of the HDRW720 and that works fine.
However, is there anyway (apart from getting another freeview box) that I will be able to set it up so that I can watch one freeview channel while recording another?
ie Is there anything on the market that converts an analogue tuner to digital which would allow the HDRW720 to tune into all of the freeview channels meaning I could watch one while recording another? Or is the Sagem box capable of sending all channels to the dvd recorder at once while I've only got it on one channel so that the dvd recorder can record from a different one?

Thanks for your time and advice

Dan

Hmmm... there's a few misunderstandings there. The HDRW720 does not have digital tuner, only analogue, but it can accept analogue AV signals via EXT2 from the output of the Sagem box.

If you loop the UHF aerial through the Sagem box and into the Philips coax input then it should be able to tune into the usual 5 analogue channels, and be capable of recording from them.

Separately, the digital Freeview reception will be converted by the Sagem to (?)RGB and sent via the SCART to the EXT2 input of the Philips.

However the Philips will only be able to record one thing at a time; either from the analogue aerial or the EXT2 input.
