Last series I only got into the programme half way through.

So looking forward to this series

Does anyone know if DS will have a dedicated thread like DOI or SCD ?

I think I will give this one a go. I didn't see the first series at all, but heard it was very good. This one certainly seems to be getting alot of promotion.

I never saw the first series (dont know why, it is just the type of show I love! ) so am determined to give it a shot this time round. From the promo clips it certainly looks interesting, plenty of bitching and arugments, which I love.

I just hope theyve not done a big brother and gone for 12 Sairahs and Pauls just to create conflict, guys like James and Tim are needed just as much as bolshy, pushy loudmouth types.

At the end of the day Alan Sugars got to employ one of them and we all know he dont like bullshitters and he dont like arselickers.

How daft was the name the “A-Team”?

It was daft when the TV show was on and it is even dafter now.

I am really sad the boys lost. I think the girls are full of crap and just flirt their way to the top. I already hate the girl with the curly hair; I thought she was going to start crying in the board room.

Didn’t like Sayid as soon as he opened his mouth.

Slightly off topic…the guys are butt ugly! And the girls aren’t better either. …yes, looks have nothing to do with selling…blah! blah! blah!

I can't believe Ben fired! He was growing on me!

So I am no longer an Apprentice virgin! I really enjoyed the show, but for some reason didnt expect it to be as cut throat as it was (which is silly I know... ). There are only two who stood out in the 'I'd like to club over the head stakes' - that was curly haired woman who I have dubbed 'Chrisse Watts' and 'A Team' man. Part of me wants them to leave (quickly!) and the other wants them to stay and cause more havoc, although as Alan Sugar said, A Team man has his cards marked!

I always thought the Project Manager was a cursed job, they are automatically going to blame you if something goes wrong. I actually liked Ben, thought he showed a lot of restraint and would have liked him to continue further. If I was sitting in the big leather chair, I would have kicked 'A Team' man out on his arse!

I know the girls flirted their way to fruit, but essentially it was a great idea, showed creativity, spark and being able to think on their feet. So in the end I was glad they won. But I wish that 'Chrisse Watts' stopped getting over excited at every bloody little thing, it is mega annoying!

Dont think much of Alan's aides, they freak me out a little, especially the 'I'm wearing my pants too tight' woman!

Agree cybergirl. And no way should Ben have gone. Said was an utter plonker.

But still think this knocks spots off the Don's series. Sir Alan is a legend.

I actually have no interest in watching the US version, but from what I have seen I liked the UK version. I was shocked that none of them got their wallets nicked while out and about on the Hackney estates...

The women completely deserved their win and it was total b.s. that Sir Alan pulled that on them. It was a legitimate win. I mean, what was his point anyway? Is he trying to say that Paul selling an apple for fiver is value for money? That's a joke. The girls sold "day of" produce--I buy reduced perishable products at the grocery store all the time, nothing wrong with it if you plan to consume it on the day. They also sold at greatly reduced prices--two melons for a pound? That's a bargain.

Sir Alan was off his rocker. Those women--who are all scrubbers anyway, they don't really have any sex appeal to rely on really--but the women saw an opportunity and they grabbed it. If they men weren't so wrapped up in their power plays they might've seen the same opportunity. Instead they were trying to make a profit on full-price retail produce near the end of the day? Of course they lost. Ben wasn't a terrible leader but he wasn't sharp enough to out-wit the women. Long may they reign.

I don't see what was wrong with the women did. In business you are supposed to use every asset available to you. If men are stupid enough to hand over produce because a pretty girl flashes her eyes at him then more fool them. The men selling an apple for a fiver was just as bad. The male project leader seemed like a nice guy but nice guys finish last. Seyed is an arrogant little $h*t.

Sugar made no sense at all. Buy cheap and sell dearer was how he made his millions. If you have one day to sell and can get it cheap fruit at its sell buy date was a brilliant concept if the aim was tio make money .The girls can't go to a London market and not flirt with the suppliers - its a London market not a monastry. Then try selling melons with Alexa's figure without 99% of the population making the obvious connection. Since when has sex not been used in advertising or inform design? He then compounded it all by coming up with the sort of nonsensical solution a poor third class university student would come up with - giving them the same cost for a different quantity of a different product - a move as illogical as it was pointless. He wasn't even consistent with his morals - he could equally have turned on the boys for browbeating stupid people into buying fruit at astronomical prices - thats more likely to get you on Watchdog than flirting with your supplier.

The fact was that the girls won on profit margins, salespoints, quantity of stock, advertising and imagination. He didn't pick Ben up on the lack of these considerations or his other failures like selling metric units at imperial prices or buying extra stock at full price from the local shops to force on halfwits on their door steps. Instead of actually commenting on all that, all we ended up with was a decision that Ben had done less well than the girls, had gone for one outlet, seemed to pass the buck and annoyed his team . Right conclusion, but as an argument it was very weak and implicit compared to the one that should have been made.

4 things I didn't get in today's first episode of the second series of UK Apprentice;

1) The ladies used "sex sells" to sell more fruit/veg, Alan pulls them for it when all they did was use every means possible to make maximum proft.

2) The lady with the curly hair who seems to be jumping around alot got very upset with Alan because he pulled them for using flirtation techniques and claimed that it was unfair for them to be labelled as sluts or be labelled as always using "sex sells" as a tactic that was somehow underhanded... but wait a minute, she was involved with the whole concept "sex sells" and embraced it... so now she's crying waterworks because Alan tells them off for using "sex sells" and she's upset because they did and she thought they didn't? (yes, I'm confused too!)

3) The constant product placement of Amstrad E-mailer phones, why are they all over the place...?

4) Alan gets bored very easily and wants quick answers to everything, even if they take time to explain...

It was a good episode though.

Anyone know if they are repeating it? I went to the pub to watch the footy and didn't set the video properly.
