(yes, I'm confused too!) 3) The constant product placement of Amstrad E-mailer phones, why are they all over the place...? 4) Alan gets bored very easily and wants quick answers to everything, even if they take time to explain... It was a good episode though. So although it can't have come as a huge surprise when the others did anyway she can't be said to have "embraced" the idea. She was blooming irritating though! |

The curly girl used another female gimmik, showing she can use female wyles to off put men, she got emotional and on the brink of crying, if theres one thing to keep you safe and in favour from red blooded men it's crying and flirting.
I actually think Alan got them to qualify there postion, of flirting and selling "day of" stock nicely, He wanted them to quantify there approach and guarantee they would be able to do it again, thus gaining the all important repeat buisness. Syied has to go what a knob, "the A team", "bring on the mind games", the man is witless and I would love to know the name of his recruitment agency, the advertising slogan probably goes "The A team, you got a recruitment problem nobody else can solve, let the A team help" |

The lads could have gone out for the rest of the week and made the same profit, the girls couldn't have pulled the same stunt twice. |

I have a feeling a woman will win this time. On the whole they seem better candidates. The men all seemed to have a lack of common sense/determination/communication skills.

I can very well recollect Raj saying this in the first series and he went very far even after saying this. |

In the American series (2?) the womens team were specifically told to stop the flirting, the reason given was that it was unprofessional. I think it is one of those "fine lines". The women may have won the challenge, but did they do their reputation any good? If Alan had to choose someone last night to be his apprentice, I doubt it would have been a female. A case of a short term benefit at a long term cost. I think some of the women needed to consider the bigger picture, which does not necessarily backup the idea of "win at ANY cost!".

Since when has sex not been used in advertising or inform design? He then compounded it all by coming up with the sort of nonsensical solution a poor third class university student would come up with - giving them the same cost for a different quantity of a different product - a move as illogical as it was pointless. He wasn't even consistent with his morals - he could equally have turned on the boys for browbeating stupid people into buying fruit at astronomical prices - thats more likely to get you on Watchdog than flirting with your supplier.
The fact was that the girls won on profit margins, salespoints, quantity of stock, advertising and imagination. He didn't pick Ben up on the lack of these considerations or his other failures like selling metric units at imperial prices or buying extra stock at full price from the local shops to force on halfwits on their door steps. Instead of actually commenting on all that, all we ended up with was a decision that Ben had done less well than the girls, had gone for one outlet, seemed to pass the buck and annoyed his team . Right conclusion, but as an argument it was very weak and implicit compared to the one that should have been made. |

I couldn't care less about any of them. It is car crash TV -- if these people are as good as they think they are why aren't they just out there doing it? Sugar is like your old headmaster -- he pretends it is a democracy when all that happens is that he pulls rank on you when you don't agree. He's a good talker though and I am sure he could sell buckets of hot mud to landslip victims... |
