Read DVD DL with the Pioneer 520H

A regard to the forum, a DVD-R DL I have burning with the PC and have I tried to do him read to my DVD recorder (Pioneer 520H with HD from 80Gb) but doesn't it accept the disk, on the specifications it doesn't tell anything respect of the DLs. Who knows me to help to understand?
it would be also profit to know if someone has already tried with other table player.

The 420/520 range do not record to -R dual layer discs.
The later range including the 630 do

I would like to read the DL.
Could the inside burning be upgrade the firmware (DVR-107-XA) and to adjust it to the reading of the DL???
