GAYNOR & BONNIE APPRECIATION THREAD

I think its about time these two (and their partners) were given some aknowledgment for the work they have put into this programme

Gaynor has gone from a gibbering wreck into a graceful skater

Bonnie has always looked good and is now starting to skate more

David has done well but through bad luck he shouldnt be there now, this week the sympathy vote will be huge for him but in my opinion he is not as good as the others

Stephan scraped through the first weeks and with the other popular men gone he has now picked up their votes

People dont see Gaynor as a threat to Stephan so she dosent seem to get many comments at all, even though she has done really well

Bonnie just seen to be slated left right and center for her looks, the way she speaks and because she is really good with the lifts

we hear the words 'its not about the lifts' well if it wasnt about the lifts why did Sean get lower marks when he did a dance routine without the lifts

Skating should be involved but i dont think we should pull the skaters to bits just because they dont do a routine full of skating with a couple of lifts thrown in or because they are female

lets see some good comments for Gaynor and Bonnie

I think Gaynor is great - always have done! Natural, down to earth and that infectious smile. Great partnership with Dan - they seem really comfortable with each other.

Now how about you say something nice about Stefan.

I think they both work well with their partners, and it shows with their quite different routines

Posted by me @ 11.18 on 13.02.06 .

Although she doesn't get my vote I think she's a nice person. I remember reading that she was very supportive to troubled singer Lena Zavaroni who died after a long battle with anorexia.

Now
will you say something nice about Stefan?

Gaynor does look elegant when she skates and in her lifts and Bonnie is very good with her artisic impression and lifts

dont you agree

I like Bonnie and I like Gaynor - hell, I'm in such a good mood I like every ice dancer at the mo! Gaynor looks about twice the size of Bonnie and still does lovely lifts, Bonnie's lifts sometimes look dangerous to me - I often shriek expecting an accident. Thankfully there hasn't been one, (excluding poor Pam). I too think that, if David and Pam are dancing this week they will get a big sympathy vote - possibly not deserved, who knows? - which means another pair will go out.

It's getting tense now we're nearly at Bolero! - I hope everyone gets through it safely!

Must admit I like all of the celebs left.

My favourite is still Bonnie - think she's fantastic and incredibly brave to attempt the stuff she's been doing.

Stefan is great - it's been tough for him as he's not only had to learn to skate he's also got to have the confidence and ability to lift.

Gaynor has really blossomed and the partnership is very strong.

David has also worked really hard and suits the slower stuff, but he is the weakest of those left now. Did have to chuckle though when one of the girls at work said the voters are only keeping him to be wicked just to see if he drops his partner again

The week gaynor and dan skated to the theme from titanic they were the best for me.

Hand on heart I can't say Bonnie has ever been the best - but I admire the acrobatics and acknowledge she's a gutsy little lady:

Only Mr. Bojangles moved me to tears!

i thought Bonnie was equal best with John the first two weeks

none has moved me to tears

the music should not be the reason people vote only the performance, though i can understand emotional music swaying a vote

I personally love George Micheal singing Mr B.

The perfomance to Mr B was good but no better than the rest, they were all equal with mabe Kelly's performance just under the rest

Not the music - deffo the performance.

The hat didn't really challenge gaynor and dan, this probably put them at a disadvantage.

Bonnie and Matt using the boa as a swing looked spectacular, but I saw little use of the prop otherwise. And the spectacular neck spin was performed without the boa.

I was never a Kelly fan - but I do feel the odds were stacked against her last Saturday and her prop was the most difficult.

Love George Michaels version and Robbie Williams' and Stefan and Kristinas' ice dancing version!

Gaynor and partner were on GMTV this morning. They are apparently favourites to win - I suppose according to the bookies. They came over very well and seem to get on, as do all the couples that are left. I think it is still quite open though and the performance on the night will decide the outcome. All four pairs bring different qualities. It depends on the music they have been given and how their interpretation of it appeals to the public. It is a pity anyone has to leave so close to the end - I'd like to see them all in the final.

It seems that bookies have actually put Bonnie as favourite to win followed by Gaynor, Stefan and David in that order. David as favourite to go may reflect the fact that he has only had a couple of days to practice his routine with Pam - it depends on what they can pull off in such a short time. In my opinion, they are all winners!

GAYNOR & BONNIE APPRECIATION THREAD - Yes deffo for Gaynor, she's come on leaps and bounds, well done girl!

CAN'T STAND BONNIE. Everything about her grates on me:
her inane grinning/gurning
her OTT make-up
her lack of skating ability
GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!

.......

Bonnie and Gaynor are both fantastic, lovely women who have come a long way on this show. Bonnie has been my favourite from the beginning and i'm keeping my fingers crossed for her tomorrow, i'd love to see her make it into the final.

Out of everyone, it's always been her performances that have completely wowed me and kept me glued to the screen, those lifts she does are really amazing. She's just fantastic to watch. I love how she's always smiling and so bubbly.

But good luck to both of them!

They didn't say so much slappers r us - but both came across very well. Her partner said that Gaymor had done really well - she started at the bottom in week 1 and has worked her way up through the field - Gaynor said they can't do the same aerial show that Bonnie puts on every week as she is too heavy - that they have really enjoyed it although it has been really tiring especially at this stage in the competition - that she is really fit now after 4 (!) months of training and they would love to win (as everyone does of course).

I think Bonnie and Gaynor are equal

Gaynor makes up for not having all the areial lifts by good elegant skating

Bonnie makes up for the lack of skating with the dangerous lifts

it all equals out

if it had been all about the footwork there would have been no lifts and if it had been all about the lifts there would have been no footwork

To his cost John learned there has to be a showy element to the routines

Good luck to Bonnie and Gaynor and their partners. It's so close to the finish now - their performances must be perfect - the pressure that puts on them will be big. I hope for no accidents and on the night that the weakest dance team go out - based on ability and not looks or whatever.

Looking forward to it!

They sure are I can't really say I dislike any of the four left. I would love Gaynor to win, but won't be too disappointed if one of the other three wins instead They really come on in leaps and bounds. No that wasn't meant to be a pun and any one of those four deserve it now.

Let's hope they carry on their skating practise even after the show ends and maybe still do their Bolero with their partners just for their own satisfaction that they did it
