Remaking classic Dr Who that were wiped
high speed
24-02-2006
Now A for Andomeda is being remade by BBC 4 and Quatermas was remade last year. I see they are looking for ideas what to make after A for andromeda. How about Classic wiped Dr Who.
I would go for Power of the Daleks and Evil of the Daleks.
Any other you would want brought back that this is only way we would see classics?
With computer graphics now could be a winner. Show when new series Dr who off air between series

As nice as it sounds, the problem is here is that you would in effect be making different versions of the same programme at the same time. I don't believe that this would work.

For example: will the new version of an older classic feature the current Doctor, David Tennant, or would it be done with a Troughton look-alike?

Added to this that a BBC4 production would no-where near get the budget that BBC1's Doctor Who would get, therefore it won't be able to afford to do something like Power or Evil of the Daleks.

Personally, I would like them to stick to making newer versions of other lost sci-fi classics like Nigel Kneale's The Road or some the supernatural anthology series' episodes that have been lost.

Mind you, when (or if) the new Doctor Who comes to an end, it would be an interesting way of keeping Doctor Who on our screens in some form or other.

And that's probably why there was no follow-up to BBCi's animated series starring Richard E. Grant.

I seem to recall that it was the reason why Shalka wasn't followed up.

They could make shada as a new story. It would bebefit from modern special effects and big budget sets.

50th anniversary special with the 13th doctor, perhaps? It could be rewritten to include an explanation of how he survives.

The 13th (and final) Doctor is The Valyard as shown in 'Trial of a Time Lord'.

Not true I'm afraid. The Master states that he is "somewhere" between the Doctor's 12th and final regeneration.

Whatever that means...

As for the re-makes I would love to see them done as animations on the BBC website - following on from the very enjoyable Shada.
