I'm sad to see David go, but wasn't his first spin on two feet rather than one i.e. what Bonnie's ended up as in the first routine? In the 2nd routine, we couldn't clearly see David's feet for all of the spin, but we did see Bonnie's was great. As Christopher Dean said hers was the best, I'd tend to go with his judgement on that particular point and as it was the required element, that
may be what helped swing it with the judges.
I take your point about Bonnie's consistency with the spin, but the judges were meant to just go on what they saw before them for the skate-off... apparently. David had skated before too (didn't someone say he could have been a pro ice hockey player at one point and also did the BBC ice dance programme?), so much as I'm sad to see him go, I can see how it happened. I think he was great however. For a guy of his stature to be so graceful is quite an achievement and Pam & him seemed to have a lovely rapport.
