A lady always lies about her age!

Actually, Bonnie looks considerably older than 41 to me. Jayne Torvill is knocking on 50 and she looks younger than Bonnie!

According to the Sky digiguide for next Saturday, the 3 couples will dance their favourite performance again, and then the one with the least votes will be eliminated in the results show. Then the remaining 2 couples will dance T&D's Bolero.

So, it's not guaranteed that Bonnie will get to skate Bolero if she ends up with the lowest votes as she has this week and last.

I believe Paul Burrell had great difficulty with skating and withdrew also. The story was that he had some leg problem.I didn't actually know about Gazza though.

I read that Paul Burrell just could not master the skill of skating and was 'replaced' - I wonder if Pam was his partner. Gazza got injured during training for the BBC show - he fell heavily on the ice. David's replacement of him was even more last minute although the BBC show didn't require nearly as much skill as DOI and they didn't train as much. Not surprising as DOI is nearly a full-time commitment and can only be taken on by people with a lot of time on their hands; ie retired as David is, out of work or between jobs. Had Sean still been in Coronation Street or Stefan still in The Bill they could never have done the show.

I thought the show was supposedly about skating?

It was on the cards that the judges would always save her in a skate off, that's why I couldn't understand posts on here saying she'd go this week. BUT next week the viewers vote, she'll come 3rd no doubts there at all.
If only the voting had been for the weakest, i.e the one we wanted off, it would have been a much fairer contest.

The right three are in the final. I can't decide whether I want Stefan or Gaynor to win, I like them equally. I suppose I'll have to wait to see the performances next week.

That's a shame for the person missing out 'cos part of the appeal of getting to the final is dancing to bolero. If it's the case that they can make up their own routine to bolero then Bonnie will fly it so to speak. Fortunately the public have cottoned on to what's happening

I'm watching the replay on ITV2 right now since I was mainly watching the program about Krakatoa on Ch4 last night and just kept flicking back to DOI.

Yep, Bonnie was crap in the main show. She looked stiff and nervous. But she really pulled in out the bag for the skate off. Having just seen David do his routine perfectly she would have been under real pressure, yet she stepped up and performed.

Jason is extremely biased towards her and does seem to wear rose tinted specs. In his eyes she can do no wrong. But there is a lot of the reverse going on in here - people are saying she can do no right and have the audacity to say its a 'fluke' if she does well instead of giving credit to her. There were a few posts I read and simply laughed at the irony. You may not like the style she's using but give the girl her dues - what she did she did well in last night's skate off.

Having got rid of the truly awful (in every sense!) Dame Sulky, last week - I was really sad that anyone had to go last night.
David is a very good skater, IMO & a really lovely person - he & Pam made a great partnership.
I think Bonnie has brought some excitement to the competition also - although she spends a lot of time on the air - her & Matt's performances have been trail-blazing at times & very entertaining.
Ultimately, I think it will be between Stefan & Gaynor - I can't choose between them - both would be very deserving winners - so will just be happy to watch & enjoy!

Gaynor is filiming and doing the show at the same time so it must be possible to work and do DOI at the same time

I think with a proper week of rehearsal he could have done well in the final. Still he can be proud of himself and pleased with the audience reaction which was noticably more enthusiastic than it was for Bonnie.”

It was more enthusiastic for David i agree, but the reason for that was sympathy mixed with relife when he didnt drop Pam again no other reason than that

if he was that popular he wouldnt have been in the last two

Too right, how the judges could possibly boot out David (who could actually skate and had to lift his partner) to put Bonnie through to the final astounds me. I'm sorry but being carried through a performance does not count as skating she spends 90% of the time in the air and all the rubbish part of the performance is that other 10% when her feet touch the floor. If it had been down to the public David would be in the final and Bonnie out she is only there could she sucks up to the judges. Please people make sure she doesn't win!

I don't actually think that it was sympathy and relief slappers r us - they cheered from the moment he stepped on the ice until he left it. He is just a very popular guy and a lovely person. He has been saved from the skate-off in spite of coming last on a number of occasions but when it came down to the last four it was more difficult. Bonnie is really nice too but doesn't seem to have the same public support. I don't know why.
I think that David can be pleased about his skate-off performance and the reaction from the public. He even managed a one-footed spin, I just saw on the repeat. I didn't see any difference to Bonnie's performance but the jury had to chose one of the two. I actually find David very elegant and he looks very safe on the ice. I just wish the live audience could have cheered Bonnie more as the difference in the reaction was clear for all to see. That must spoil the joy of getting to the final a little. I'm sure David feels more satisfied about the evening than she does even though he is out of the competition.

I'd never heard of Stefan until I watched "Being Carried about on Ice" but I love what he's achieved. Having had skating lessons and managed ONE complete rotation in a spin ONCE my admiration knows no bounds! I also admire the pros, particularly the women who are risking career ending injuries with some of the celebs.
The judges on this show made those in Salt Lake City look like a model of consistency! Jason has obviously been put in to cause contention. We laughed last night when they described him as a renowned choreographer who's worked with [those notable dancers] Elton John and Shirley Bassey! Karen should not be allowed to judge because of working with the contestants and her obvious fondness for at least some of them. Robin Cousins may have been a good skater himself but he talks a load of rubbish! I think Nicky has often shown more sense but sometimes we disagree!
It was set up from the beginning to give some people a better chance.
Last night Jason said Bonnie should get good marks and go through because of how consistent she's been over the weeks. NO NO NO, they should be judged on their performance on the night. Once it came to Jason in the skate-off you knew David had no chance (although I don't really think he has improved much since week 1 & maybe doesn't deserve to progress - no excuses about illness please) because Bonnie could be swaddled up like a mummy & entombed & Jason'd still give her high marks for "Smiling Really Brightly on Ice."
I liked Jayne's response when Chris said Bonnie wanted it more or something & Jayne said "Maybe she says it more." or something! Right on Jayne!
Anyway I'm glad to hear next week the public gets the final word.

I am so enjoying Dancing on Ice. I have watched it every week. I agree with the comments on Bonnie. She does not skate that much and is constantly in the air!! I know it looks terrific but she is not actually skating on the ice!! Its is half a minute on the ice and then off she flies. She is a professional dancer and weights about 3 stone (joke!!) so you can throw her around like a ball and that is what they have been doing for the whole competition. I was disappointed about David being voted off as I think he has improved so much and had to do the complicated lifts etc and it WAS NOT his fault that he partner Pam had the headbanging lift accident!! The poor guy!! I think he is terrific and wished he had made the final. Good luck Gaynor.

We've been told the skate off is judged purely on that one performance - so why did Jason bang on about Bonnie delivering week after week (his opinion - not mine).

Jason has been spouting crap throughout the show. I'm surprised you take any notice of it Podge.

Sad to see David go, he seems like a lovely guy (he even gave people in the crowd his flowers, which I thought was sweet!), and I enjoyed his performance. I'm glad that he went out on a high after finally managing the headbanger lift!

Bonnies performances are always interesting and enjoyable, but I can't help but feel that Matt is doing most of the work. The lifts are amazing, but I'd like to see Bonnie skate without him to show that she does have good skating skills.

it was a lovely gesture but to be fair to Kelly, she did the same the week before. not sure if that was shown though.

The question is what is she delivering to Jason?

I think the problem with the judging on this show is that the men and the woman can't be compared. What is required is very different.

Agree, I think the women tend to get more credit for doing less. The lifts and spins are spectacular but it is the pro guys that are doing most of the work whereas with the men they have to learn to skate and lift and a lift like Stefan's last week during Bojangles took a lot of skill but was less spectacular than Bonnie's spin so he got less credit for doing more
