What's with the crap camera work?

I've endured some god awful camera work on this otherwise fantastic show but the dire dire dire job done on the opening Footloose number was just shocking!

I hope they sack the YTS camera men in favour of proffesionals for the final.

I happen to agree, the skaters were out of view when they did the most important lifts and turns etc. Especially to the left hand side.

And the whole section with the judges dancing was badly shown.

I noticed it during Gaynor's performance as well as the Footloose routine, when they were skating and the camera was above their heads... How on earth are we supposed to see them skating?!

Yeah the ceiling cam was a new addition and a bit bollocks

There was some dodgy camera work today. Sometimes the contestants were totally out of shot.

during gaynors i saw more of the ice than her and they missed out at least one of her lifts!

Completely agree. It ruined the opening number as you couldn't really see what the skaters were doing - whether they were doing their own thing or all skating the same - hope they get it together for the final as there are supposed to be some special treats!

This was definitley the worst camerawork of the series so far - may be someone was off sick ??!!!!

the footloose number seemed ok while T&D were skating, then the cameramen seemed to loose it when the rest of the skaters came on

or is it the producers/editors up in the gallery who are at fault for not switching to the right cameras at the right time

I was beginning to think it was just me.. Glad I found this thread.. The camera work has been awful throughout.. I don't know who is to blame for this though..

Do you think maybe, just maybe, it might be the director who is to blame?

Should we really have to?

If the show had been filmed well it wouldn't be an issue but I personally think it's the director and the camera people. The director for not having his people in the right place and the camera people for clearly being crap at where to point.

No idea who might be to blame, but it needs sorting out for the final

Agree absolutely, it was dreadful.

Yes I noticed it too and thought I do not believe it!! Most of the opening scenes I completely missed and had no idea what the dancers were doing. Up until now I thought the camera work was fine but the last programme was awful, we saw more of the ice than the dancers. Perhaps the cameraman was new!!

Great show, enjoying it.
