The Bolero
TH14

Will the celebs have to do the T+D version or can they devise their own version to Bolero. The reason I'm asking is that if they can do their own thing Bonnie could fly her way to victory

Well considering they've been saying throughout the show that "the couples in the final will be dancing the Bolero" I assumed it would be T&D's version... but somehow they've changed it to "the couples in the final will be dancing to the Bolero" so that certain skating stars can, as you said, fly their way to victory.

I think it's ridiculous... What's the point of dancing the Bolero if you can just make up your own dance?! I thought the whole point was that they had to prove they were good by dancing that routine... taught to them by T&D themselves (as Gaynor pointed out)... It's crazy and very convenient for Bonnie

I was under the impression that they would do a similar version of Bolero, obviously without all the things that are technically impossible for the celebs.

I'm also sceptical if even T&D could do the Bolero in such a tiny rink.

They will be doing their own boleros, I think . They certainly couldn't do Torvill and Dean's version. It would be too difficult.

I'd quite like to see them do their own interpretations of it. It makes for a more varied programme.

Although the judges rate Bonnie I don't think she's as popular with the general public. She finished in the bottom two the last two weeks and it is all down to the public vote in the final.

So did Stefan end up in the bottom 3 weeks in a row (or something), you just can't estimate what the public are going to do.

It will all depend on what happens on the night.

He did...but he's grown in popularity over the weeks and now he and Gaynor are the favourites while Bonnie's popularity is on the wane. Still, anything can happen and it's not beyond Bonnie if she is allowed to do what she wants for Bolero. Gaynor was also in the skate off 1st week

I like the fact it's not clear cut who is going to win. Any of the couples could pull it off. It makes for a good competition and great viewing.

I'm at a loss in understanding why people could think that people with little skating experience could possibly attempt the gold medal winning performance of two professionals. Its just not possible.

When Jayne and Chris were on Des and Mel a few weeks back they gave the impression that the couples would be doing interpretations of it, and obviously doing parts of the original program depending on each couples strengths and limitations.

Jayne and Chris themselves I assume will be doing the same as they've done each time they're recreated a performance this series, and doing parts of the program, but unfortunately it will obviously have to be really short.
Every Saturday when they skate it seems to be over so quickly, and for me It's the absolute highlight of the program!

I really can't wait to see how they decide to interpret it, It's going to be stunning

i know what u mean! i love watching torvill and dean skate its the highlight of the show. I hope the series gets them thinking about maybe doing a different show where viewers can watch them skate more than once an evening! I really think they should skate at least twice on DOI, especially now that there are less and less celebs to skate.

I don't think he's got sympathy votes. Seaman surely would have had the sympathy vote last night but that didn't work for him. Stefan has had great comments the last 3 weeks or so so how can he have a sympathy vote?

must admit David had a lot of the sympathy vote last night

Stephan has improved a great deal over the last two weeks but in my opinion after reading forums i get the impression he still gets a lot of votes for symathy

I think the skate offs made him stronger but I'm not sure about sympathy votes because he's had fantastic comments for weeks now so I don't know why people would feel sympathy for him. I think he's grown on people over the weeks and people have seen how much he's improved and so he's recieved more votes and support

I agree TH14, I think Stefan is now receiving votes for his skating, which has improved tremendously - sympathy doesn't come into it.
