She has a few lines on her face, but I don't think Bonnie looks that old. She looks the age she is, 41.

She's very thin. Its not complimentary to be stick thin when your over the age of 40. It ages you.

God Bless you Sparkle!

As someone over 50 and losing the battle of the bulge (I can't remember when I was a size 12, and as far as I can recall, the last time I had a wolf whistle was 1978) you have made my day love.

I disagree, I'm in my late forties, underweight and always have been, yet I am still mistaken for someone at least 10 years younger. I think the "baggy skin" look comes if your weight has yo-yo'ed over the years. Bonnie's body is like a teenagers, but her face looks as if she's in her 50's. It reminds me of Toyah Wilcox's on I'm a Celebrity who had a face lift shortly after coming out of the jungle. I wouldn't be surprised if Bonnie does the same thing.

I'm well over 40 and people constantly mistake me for being in my 30s (which is great! And who am I to disabuse them of this? <G>), so saying 'she looks her age' doesn't mean a great deal, particularly when judging someone's age is so subjective. How 'old' is '41' supposed to look? Or 51 come to that?

I think what people are trying to say is that Bonnie looks very haggard facially.

yeh facially is what i mean, her body is in tip top condition good on her! but i just think she looks older than jayne torvill who is quite a few years older.

Bonnie may have sun bathed a lot when she was young. That can really damage your skin. It's only comparatively recently that people have become aware of this and use blocks.

Jayne is actually almost 50. But your right she doesn't look it.

hmm i know, i thought she was younger than that, i guess all that ice skating has kept her looking young. Christopher looks young too considering hes only a year younger than her.

I thought she was older than Torvill and Dean

They both look much more youthful.

I think its the wrinkles around her eyes

I think she looked younger at the start of the series but the "G" forces she must have experienced from being spun around has pulled her skin up her body to her face. Gaynor, on the other hand doesn't have a wrinkle. Figure it out

I think Gaynor is a very attractive woman who oozed sex appeal last night.

But I was shocked when they said Bonnie was 41 too, because i actually thought she was younger. She looks her age but i thought she was younger.

Yes I thought '41???!!!' ...when she said it, as I am older than she is and have few wrinkles................however that pretty bloke could never lift me above his head , so I guess I should keep quiet!! ......................I think she is wrinkled because she smiles so much...wheras I am a miserable cow??

I think Bonnie looks terrific although the lines round her eyes are quite obvious.
What really annoys me is the fact she makes such a big thing about being 41 as if it is really old and how well she's done despite her (ancient) age. She reminds me of elderly peole who delight in telling you they are 80+.
Unfortunately I will not see 41 again but I hope I will be able to learn new skills for many years to come.

swings and roundabouts

i know a lot of women who have slender figures and their faces look like the AA map of England

I also know an awful lot of women who have fuller figures and not a line in sight

I think its a trick nature played on us women

Be skinny and look older or be overweight and look younger

Only a selected few are both

I'm not saying what i am

I wonder if it's also because it seems like she has been around forever - from bugsy malone to violet elizabeth and so on she's been ever present in my childhood.

I would also guess that the perma-grin caused a few wrinkles at an early age. But personally, I think she looks great

i agree tigerlily she does seem to have been around for a long time perhaps thats why.

When she was skating / being carried around on the ice I thought to myself "She's not too bad for someone in their mid-fifties!" so i was shocked when she said she was only 41!

She seemed to go on about her age a lot last night i thought - maybe trying to get votes from the older generations!

I think it might be inherited. My mum had a beautiful and youthful complexion as did my mum-in-law into her 70's and early 80's. But I've worked with women in their 20's who could easily be mistaken late 30's early 40's. Maybe it's sun damage or smoking. Or maybe to keep a smooth complexion you just have to be damn lucky.

Personally I think Bonnie is beautiful, she has the colouring I've longed for all my life - her face is so alive and sparkling, I think Gaynor is beautiful too in a totally different way.

Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.

Would guess Bonnie has done a lot of stage work in the past - all that heavy stage make up can play havoc with the skin - all the pulling and prodding and slapping on gunk, then more pulling and yanking to remove all the stuff after the show.

It's the same for women who have always worn a lot of make up - when all the gunk is removed they generally look much more lined and wrinkled than women who don't bother with layers of caked on foundation and powder. Think there is a belief that the make up protects you from the elements, which may be true to a certain extent - but I honestly believe the pulling and stretching done to the skin with the applying and removing is far more damaging.
