Strangely enough, I did have a glass of wine at lunch with my professor today - but I assure you no alcohol was needed to appreciate that very fine jawline definition.

Hic!

And I'm willing to bet Fae will back me up next time she logs on...

I'd willingly agree with you but since we aren't allowed to discuss certain posters due to their imposed absence - I'm unable to confirm how handsome he looks ......

Temporary midnight slot on local radio? Has she really had no better offers?

It is Capital FM - the most listened to station in London. And it is London - the biggest city in Europe! And being on 10pm-1am means people can still catch an hour or two before beddy-byes.

Give the gal a chance. If she does well, it might lead to better things.

I bet Adele would not of turned her nose up at it either

Different kettle of fish since Adele is an established DJ - the leap to radio wouldn't be that much of an effort for her.

James Whale (TalkSport) and Fi Glover (Radio 5)present 10pm-1am shows; they are both well known.

Capital is a big station, and 5 3 Hour nights is alot. I suspect PFD (her agents) see it as a good way of coaching Kate.
Remember, Brian had to have alot of grooming before becoming a fully-fledged TV Presenter (he disappeared for months; did him little harm).

If Brian had gone straight into a TV presenting after Winning BB2, he would have fallen flat on his face.

Hang on a minute -

I thought the bloke in the pic was the absent but unbanned Father Jack with a big F and a big J - we can talk about him, can't we? Or has he been banned, too?

I've only just discovered the new thread I posted earlier about the other fj (wormy little impostor) has been closed down.

Censored - good grief. Am not sure whether to hang my head in shame, or celebrate becoming the naughtiest girl in the school...

How is it a different kettle of fish? I was referring to a comment on how it was supposed to be a rubbish job when it isn't and it's not a job to be snobbish about. Besides DJing on the radio is not about putting on & mixing records like it is in club djing. On radio they have more support for that and its more to do with personality

Aha , the good old days...

Im so intrigued to witness Kate's performance tonight on Capital, I think she will be really good.

Had a dream last night that I had taken her to the radio's studio, and sat her at her station, she was asleep, I woke her, she appeared scared, and then through sleepy eyes she said, "why didn't you tell me it was you, and hugged me, then kissed me,
and said she felt better, and got on with her show.

- I never realised I fancied her till now!!!!!!!!

Perhaps she had the same dream about you, Maxii.

(As an aside, didn't Clive Bull get his LBC job as a result of his being a Mastermind contestant? I have fond memories of Peter Cook's legendary late-night phone calls to LBC).

and I hope someone comes along soon who can chat with you about that gang 'cos unfortunately I can't, but I enjoy reading it because I can well imagine those legendary phone call conversations and the highbrow level of mad wit and humour.

maybe she did... I can just hear her this morning...
..."phwoaa!! had a dream about this bloke last night...he was even better than Mr Denim!!! hope he calls me on my show tonight!!" :'(

...mind you, there is no reason why you can't mention one or two of your fond memories of those calls... go on..let us laugh..

Yes. And did she say she was ever interested in being a radio DJ? She said in an interview she had been offered radio slots. The genre of music she is into is different than on Capital Radio. When you are a club DJ you have complete autonomy and can incorporate mixes into your set and that is part of the buzz. When you are a radio DJ the playlist is determined by the producer and EVERYTHING is scripted including links which Broadcast Assistants do anyway (and never get any credit for).

I get the impression she's more interested in the things she's been offered like Creamfields and Gatecrasher, events which are far more important when you are a 'specialist DJ' which is what her type are known as.

lol

Did she fall asleep during her show?

Anyway, I think you should think about keeping things like that safely locked away in your own mind.

p.s. Was any red paint involved in the dream?

Kate did really well. Liked the selection as well, wonder if they were her choice.

Like Spencer but thought the time he was audible took the edge off.

And that phone call with PJ - ugh - bad ad time.

And WHO was that woman who phoned in and had a go that Kate had been continuously slagging Alex off?

I think we have all acknowledged that Kate has kept her silence
about him since coming out of the house.

She started off poorly, but by the end of the 1st hour, she was really getting into it. She got over her intitial nervousness remarkably quickly.

I think she's very, very good; good at chatting to callers and talks to listeners rather than at them.

She's already better than most of the DJ's I've heard on the radio. She's better than Penk, most definitely.

That woman who phoned on the first night about Alex seemed unaware of the light-hearted nature of the "punchbag" feature. All done in jest. Kate rightly pointed out that "I have been gracious", as she has not made any serious attack on Alex; it's all been light-hearted.

Agree with her comments about BB contestants planning to sue.

Loved her views on Tara P-T and Vinnie Jones ("Ex-Footballer, Ex-Actor, Ex-Film Star")

BTW: Alison's prank call had me fooled as well.
