Apparently the skaters will be flying onto the rink on Saturday and the pros will have to catch them Bonnie should be good then

By flying I think they mean wired up and lowered down

oooooo......is this what torvill and dean were trying to keep secret on saturday?

I don't want to nit pick here, but do they know that Bonnie has done umpteen Peter Pans on a wire? Not only that, 'flying' takes a while to get the hang of? She's got an advantage

It won't be marked...it's just a showcase piece so makes no difference.
You could also say Gaynor will have an advantage as her partner Daniel is a reknowned aerielist...he will be teaching her everything he knows.

fair point tasi.....is the flying going to be something that will be commented on by the judges then? tht does seem a bit unfair BUT the public have the deciding vote so IMO bonnie is unlikely to win no matter how good she is on a wire. lets hope so anyway.

I cant wait to see it

No, I can't see her winning either. It's a bit like Zoe Ball isn't it? The more the SCD judges extolled her, the less people voted for her.

Tell you what lets just burn Gaynor and Bonnie now

they seem to only be pushed around the ice all the time and now they have the 'advantage' of either having done a wire act or have a partner thats a specialist

lets just put them on the wood and take a match to it because the poor buggers cant do right for doing wrong

lets not forget poor Stefan must win because he's not a woman and has to skate because he cant be lifted

better still in next years DOI lets have no women at all because they only get lifted and pushed around the ice only men seem to be good enough

Why are you making such a mountain out of a molehill?

I can't recall hardly anyone slagging off Gaynor? She's popular because she can SKATE and do lifts unlike Bonnie who's skating is poor. As for Stefan yes the guys do have a tougher time of it

No need to be so dramatic and I can't see much Gaynor bashing around here

I have and don't see a great many people slagging Gaynor off. In fact, on the thread asking who people want to win Gaynor is recieving most votes. I've read very few anti Gaynor posts. People appreciate that Gaynor can lift and skate whereas Bonnie is a poor skater so why are you saying burn Bonnie AND Gaynor when it is Bonnie who's come in for the flak not Gaynor. And I think you are going a bit OTT by saying lets burn them etc etc

I was under the impression that they are only going to be lowered onto the ice and the partner has to catch them - I don't think it is something to be taken seriously or will reflect on the performance - it sounds more like it is to be a spectacular entrance perhaps to a group dance. David did say that Pam would have found it very difficult as he is so big and that maybe Stefan's partner will have problems too. With practice they will all manage it though.

Phillip was saying the wires are all computer controled so i think you may be right

LOL...I didn't mean it to sound like that If Bonnie comes out and performs a routine where she spends more time skating (and skating well) than being lifted I will hold my hands up and say well done. When I say skating I also mean on her own and not clinging onto Matt. The only time she let go of Matt was when she did her spin

As for Gaynor she has shown she can skate and hold herself well for lifts which is why I'd say she was better than Bonnie. Stefan, I believe, is at a disadvantage because he can't be involved in the spectacular spins. Instead he has to skate AND lift Kristina. Don't get me wrong there is skill involved in being spun but it's harder to do the lifting and spinning whilst skating. I've heard Chris Dean say that

Ooops maybe I didn't word my first post about Daniel helping Gaynor!
What I meant was that if people are saying Bonnie has an advantage (when it doesn't even matter as it's for a showpiece and not the competition) then I was tyring to say Gaynor will be taught by Daniel who also has lots of experience, so they may as well say the same about her but no-one ever does. It's always all about how Bonnie is crap and can't skate etc. Well she can bloomin skate and proves so every week.
I wasn't putting either of them down at all!
I've gone from not being bothered who wins to hoping Bonnie will clinch it.
I think they have all done so well but the stick Bonnie has had I think I'd like her to win now.

Does she though? When she skates on her own for a decent amount of time without holding Matt I'll agree with you

im just wondering if its true that all of the skaters are coming back next week for a performance? or is this old news!!

On DOI Extra, David says he went at a good time 'cos he'll be back on Saturday and won't have to throw his skates away

I saw DOI Extra too - David and Pam certainly seem less disappointed than most of the other evictees about being voted out. Maybe they are relieved to have a more relaxed week ahead of them and are pleased to have left on a high note - it also seems the crowd reaction during their skate-off was very special (both Philip Scofield on This Morning and the judge Nicky on DOI extra said it) which helps alleviate any disappointment. I think he said he was going to put his skates away TH14 - not throw them away!

It isnt pairs ot solo skating

just because one skater decided to have a go at solo doesnt mean they all have to

Its ice dancing for entertainment

If i wanted to see complicated ice skating i would go to an ice show or ice skating competions with experienced competitors

Im looking for the oohs and aahs, not that double salkcow was executed perfectly

they can all ice skate in their different ways

I'm taking it the final will be a longer show, to allow for the two routines from each of the three ice skating pairs left and also maybe the return of the former voted off skaters. Does anyone know for sure if the show is longer this Saturday ?

I think the first show is 1hr 20mins and the 2nd show about 50 mins so it has been extended slightly.

As for Bonnie's skating (again ) I think Stefan and Gaynor are better because they can skate better plus execute lifts, I haven't seen any evidence that Bonnie can skate well yet

Watch back Gaynor's routine from Saturday....the only time she let's go of Daniel is to do her spin.

But of course that was ignored because it's only Bonnie that people are allowed to slate for not letting go of her partner.
