Alison joins TV slimming club
08:41, 20th August 2002 - By Neil Wilkes
Alison is to take part in a slimming feature on ITV1's This Morning.

The brummie will have a webcam - the aptly named "Diet Cam" -- in her kitchen for 24 hours so viewers can keep an eye on her as she bids to lose weight.

Alison will host the feature after her own battle of the bulge.

Will this be the answer to all of Jade's prayers?

Think she should have concentrated and other parts of her personality... Her weight wasn't a problem...

lol, how funny.
After all that she said, she seems to be finally facing the truth.

Gross obesity is wrong, it leads to premature death, and it looks awful.
Anyone have a problem with that ? They are facts, go look in any medical textbook.

Only slim fit people will ever win big brother. When it comes down to it, most people will only vote for people who are slim and healthy. Allison didnt stand a hope in hell of winning, compared to kate or my dear sophie.

The stereotype of the funny bouncy overweight person is not something to be proud, or endorse in any way.
As a point of note, the reason for alisons crazy jumping around, was that she was trying to cover up her deep sadness about her physical illness*

Alison : realises that being enormous is not a way to live.

Absolutely! Around that wiry skeleton was an ample padding of pale wobbly lardy flesh, bless him. Kinda explains why Josh's appearance had such an effect on him!!

I sincerely hope that Alison's new venture is motivated by her own desire to change her lifestyle in (for her) a positive way rather than just a rather obvious star vehicle

I've been tubby as a kid, then pretty slim all my adult life. I know I'm not as fit as I should be, and I eat too much crap. But I am a darned sight fitter and healthier than my colleague who must be a good 10 stone heavier than me same height and 5 years+ younger than me. He's falling apart. If you are slim to begin with you have a good starting point to health and fitness with a good diet and decent amounts of excercise. When you are overweight you feel bad, you eat more comfort food, you are necessarily more lethargic as you tire quickly, you are bound to be on average sub-healthy as the heart, blood vessels and joints all take an extra pounding. As you lose weight you will feel much better, have more energy, and will be much more inclined to eat better and excercise more. I wish anyone who wants to lose weight all the best - I know it can be a very very hard hill to climb, but fantastic when you reach your goal.

There are a lot of very slim people out there that are not healthy. Some are on drugs, some suffering from anorexia and alot more. I also know people who are generally quite big built and they are very healthy. They do exercise and run around even more than I do.

wasn't a criticism Scart... you can always find the exceptions, and we were talking about 'weight' and not drink, drugs and psycholgical disorders etc. But 'on average' slim people will be fitter and healthier than their fatter counterparts, or there is no point harping on about obesity if it's not bad for you?

I've always remembered the film 'What's eating Gilbert Grapes' that was obesity.

I hope she succeeds with her diet, but I can't bear the thoughts of all that mania first thing in the morning while I'm having my cornflakes
And yes I do know where the "Off" button is

I hate it when people like this go on about their weight being no problem. And that it's what's on the inside that counts. I don't need to diet 'cos I'm fit. What you see is what you get, take it or leave it.......

.....Then they do an about turn like this.

It was the same with Vanessa "still a bit fat" Feltz. She went on about being overweight being other people's problem, not hers. And people have to learn not to discriminate against fat people. She'd lecture to all those people on her show about standing up to society .

Then when interviewed go on about how miserable she was, and how positive she NOW feels.

If there's one thing I liked about Alison, it was that she appeared to be fat and and have no problems with it.

What you see is what you get?
No, I don't think so.

Well people DO "know the truth" now.

Just wait for the interview on GMTV in a few weeks. Oh, my life is changed, I feel so confident and fit, blah, blah, etc, etc......

p.s. Only my second post about Alison.
