Imagine that there is an extra skate in the final: For 3 minutes the celebrity has to skate alone on the ice. Who would be the best? Thinking that way has slightly changed my opinion on who should win.

Ps. I'm not touting for votes for the obvious best skater judged on abitlity. I still want Gaynor to win!

I think Stefan. He spends loads of time skating on their own whereas Bonnie spends about 90% of the show in the air or clinging onto Matt and Gaynor spends her fair share being lifted although she does seem more confident and skillfull on the ice than Bonnie

I think the opposite, i think Bonnie looks far more comfortable and confident that Gaynor.

Bonnie would look confident in the air so would any dancer. Gaynor looks worse in the air that Bonnie but better on the ice and the overall best skater is Stefan in technical elements and in overall performance

Stefan is the best overall - he can lift kristina and skate alone.

Stefan proved last week that he can skate on his own without hold of Kristina, so definitely him.

Secondly Gaynor because I think she's more confident on the ice than Bonnie.

Exactly! It would settle once and for all who is the best skater, and then the 'who is the best performer' question would be a separate issue.

Gaynor & Dan to wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin! But I think it will be Stefan & Kristina. I would be happy if it was them too though.

I wouldn't mind if Bonnie and Matt won actually, though I'd like Stefan and Kristina to win. As long as the wheelbarrow and her partner don't win, that fine with me.

with it being 'Dancing on Ice' shouldnt it be between both skating and performing

Some proof of skating ability should be displayed. If a performer without skating ability should win where is the ice element?
Ideally the winner should be able to skate and perform. Although Bonnie is the best performer, Stefan is IMO the best allrounder. It's generally acknowledged that he's the best skater and he does have the ability to perform.

A further thought crossed my mind. if the celebs were paired with each other how would they fare.

Stefan could certainly lift Bonnie, she's as light as a feather, but without the security of Matts professionalism could Bonnie 'perform.' This also goes for Gaynor.

The lifts Stefan performs with Kristina are limited to his standard of skating which could never be compared to that of Matt and Dan the professionals. He could lift Bonnie, no question, and I'm sure Bonnie could get herself into position, but it wouldn't be as spectacular as Bonnie and Matt.

Stefan would still have his skating ability to fall back on (for want of a better phrase), I simply think Bonnies' limitations would be exposed, and Gaynors were we to apply the same criteria.
