How many of you are absolutely fed up to the back teeth of the prolonged pauses when they announce the results?

It actually spoilt the final announcement for me because I was getting so annoyed.

No, you are wrong. Why couldn't Philip say "the winner is (two second pause) Gaynor Faye", instead of about a 20 second pause. So irritating.

maybe it's not Philip's fault - doesn't he get the result in his ear-piece...maybe he has to wait for the producer to tell him the result, and maybe repeat it to make sure he's heard correctly.

Totallly agree with this. Also wonder why the just cant say "the third person out is" instead of anouncing the two finalists. I know it creates tension but it just really iritates me.
To be honest the whole reults show was too drawn out for me. In strictly come dancing they show a professional performance or some singing while the results are counted. But on DOI its Holly asking the judges who they thought was best or yet another video of training or a couples highlights. I was getting sick of the contestants gushing on about what an honour it was to perform Bollero and Jane and Chris gushing about how well they did. Towards the end I was channel flicking and tunned back in to see who won it.

No, I'm not fed up with it. It's all part of it and makes it more exciting. I think he should have said the winners are Gaynor and Daniel though because I am sure each week when they were announcing the results both skaters were mentioned.

I think in a way when it is said quickly with no time for a person to really think its more dramatic

Dramatic events in real life tend not to come with pauses


Then again the "its neck and neck" and "it's the closest vote ever" every single week on every single show is also annoying. again it would be more effective if they only said it when it was true
