What do you think of Eminem?
Eminem?
Think he's quite good. Background music is good. Some of his songs stand out a lot more than others. The lyrics are usually quite funny but is there really the need to swear that often?
I've only ever heard his singles which whilst not my type of music have been okay. But I'd like to know what it is he says that is so offensive, I presume these are songs on the albums and whether he has mellowed with time>
I didn't like him until i heard the new album as i find the bad language a bit too much for my tastes but i think that his latest album was brilliant not that i can get to listen to it very much as i have kids 
Hes good-but hes not the greatest.Hes really overrated IMHO.There are alot of black rappers out there with far better tracks who usually manage to get to number 40 in the charts iof theyre lucky.Eminem is not bad-but i think he just got more attention because he was seen as the white boy doing the black mans music,much like Elvis Presley.Im liking his new stuff from the Eminem Show-Cleaning out my closet is alot deeper than the overrated Stan.
just dont really like rap music much, it just doesnt sound very tuneful to me, dont like many of his songs although i remember 'stan' was quite good and had a good video
I agree his new album is brilliant. Some of his lyrics are really deep and thought provoking, especially cleaning out my closet. and I love Hailie's song

Definitely buy it. It is an excellent album. Clening Out My Closet is also my favourite track but they are all great,
Cleaning Out the Closet seems to be the next single as I saw it on one of the music channels yesterday. Sounded quite good I must say.

How is that? His latest album is set to outsell the last one and break into 8 figures again. He also makes his big screen debut in November in a film loosely based on his life directed by Curtis Hanson (LA Confidential) which is expected to do very well.
hes going downhill quickly... i've liked each successive album that little bit less than the previous...

If you're referring to the UK, yes it is, in the US it is already 3 times platinum (over 3 million sold)

It wouldn't be too bad if he was talented but he isn't, in fact it's only thanks to Chas and Dave that he's well known at all!

But anyway, yes, buy the album! Cleaning out my Closet is fantastic, possibly the deepest, darkest song I've heard in a long time. Have you seen the video? *very* dark.
Don't bother paying extra to get the DVD "freebie" thou. It's not that good.....

He may not be the most talented singer or rapper, but he a fantastic song/rap writer. Seriously, we studied him in English at school. He is a genius writer. Even if you dont like his lyrics, they're very clever. And I personally really like his songs anyway. I love cleaning out my closet, but my favourite one on the album is Hailie's song.
And, by the way, about his 'attitude'. Do you really think he'd sell more records by being nice? Its the business you know, and he knows how to play it

Thats cool that you got to look at Em's lyrics in English at school. If you have the new album, the lyrics are in the CD sleeve for every track, he is an incredible lyricist.

Thank you! Someone who agrees with me. Yep, I had a really great English teacher. We were comparing Eminem's lyrics with Shakespeare's sonnets. The sentence structures (sorry for getting boringly technical!) are kinda the same and really clever. Not many people can write like that. Very thought provoking too
Oh, and yes I have the new album. I love reading the lyrics from the sleeve because sometimes you dont get everything he says first time round!

Agree fully with what you've said in this post, though I personally prefer "Cleanin Out My Closet" over "Hailie's Song" - though they're both great songs, with some great lyrics.
