Anyone been skating thanx to the awesome show that is Dancing on Ice. i went skating for the 1st time in over 5 years on Friday and then again today coz of the show! Anyone else been skating

I was thinking about going skating for the first time a couple of weeks ago, then front page of my local paper the next day it showed queues nearly 1hr long to get onto the rink so I've decided to wait for a bit before I even think about going near the place!

I haven't been in over ten years

Can you belive I used to go every week, sometimes twice and I even had my own skates! I'd probably break my neck now

Ah-ha. I have been skating alright (See d & t Forum if you want to read the strange yet true tale) ...As I like to say in my case "Ice-Falling" because unfortunatley that is what I spend the most of my time doing...All good fun - Until the adrenaline wears off that is and the pain kicks in

Not me! Our nearest ice rink is an hour away and last time I skated was on a girl guide trip ! I spent most of the time on my behind and was cold and wet!

I've decided to go back to figure skating because of DOI.

ive never skated there is no rink near me and im so upset because i really want to learn

Tash at least when you find your centre of balance you'll be a better skater because of it - look at stefan i heard he fell the most and he ended up being one of the best skaters on the show

Priggy, that is very true. As Deano says "One of the first things you have to learn is how to fall properly" Ironic that...*IS* there a peoper way to fall? With me it's just "Hit the deck, woman overboard, look out, THUD!"

I'm sure there is esp. with maybe a good-looking guy there or a Mr Dean for you to fall on - i am sure that is falling properly.

*Imagines* I'm all up for falling in *that* instance. Let me fall into his arms!

I, certainly wouldn't mind if Tom Welling was there or Michael Rosenbaum - its just too bad that they live over in America!

I just got some figure skates and ive been breaking them in by wearing them around the house. Hopefully ill be able to do some harder stuff other than skating forwards

At my ice rink the ques have got much longer thanks to DOI. More people are trying skating and DOI has made skating more popular. Now, I have to go about 20 mins before they open to be assured of getting in fairly quickly.

Today i went ice skaitng again and it was quite busy. I haven't managed to fall over properly (so im touching the ice) but while trying to stop i did trip and go smack in to the barrier!

I really miss skating, but I dont live anywherer near a rink. Im just going to have to wait untill I leave home and move somewhere close to one!

Going skating again on Friday. TBH with you i'm dreading it >_< Last time I went I just about escaped with my life...not an exaggeration as I hurt my shoulder due to someone smacking into the back of me and sending me into a barrier side on and my own friend trying to impress me by kicking her leg up as high as she could and inadvertenly catching the side of my right hand with the blade!
You all heard the MJ song "Blood is on the Dancefloor" right? - Well the scene here was more suited to "Blood is on the Ice" Had it bandaged up for about a week.

Was that like the T&D incident where Jayne accidently caught Chris in the side of the head with her skate all you need now is to get the blade through your hand and you will be truly Christopher Dean! Be sure to tell us how the ice skating goes won't you!

*Shudders* Yes Priggy ol' chum, Capital idea. I'll just *let* my friend stick her blade through my hand so I can be more and more like Deano. I think if that happened I would either pass out or scream and *then* pass out.

Omg I was awful when I went skating! I went with my cousin (who is the same age as me) and my brother!

They took to it literally straightaway, and I was clinging onto the side most of the time! I should have made more effort.

Anyway, after watching this DVD, I've decided that next time I go, I'm going to try and tackle it the way the celebs did - they just went for it, and although they maybe staggered slightly, they manged to move.

I'm determined to go again

thers a rink coming near me next week WWWWWWWWWWAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOO when i read it was comign i was so excited im now going twice possible three times next week lol
