Uri Geller has made himself a rich man by claiming powers which he knows cannot ever be scientifically substantiated. He cannot be proven to be a fraud, but c'mon. The fact he said he will not be using his powers to advantage is as said before - he can't because he has none... he just knows his psychology. People are very easily duped and that is how many people make a fortune. You can fool some of the people etc.

Luckily for the other celebs, Jedi mind powers only work on the weak minded, so they're all perfectly safe. Bob ![]() (Thinks - or could he be a Sith? Darth Geller!) |

Well James Randi and others have called him a fraud, and Uri has lost all his lawsuits against them. If memory serves, he sued Randi in multiple countries and Randi had to hand out the hat to fellow skeptics and scientists to help fund the numerous cases.
His powers can be scientifically substantiated. The JREF has a million dollar prize for anyone who can demonstrate their powers in a proper and controlled test. No one has ever passed it, and surprisingly few people take it - that includes Uri. If he does have powers then why dosen't he take the opportunity to prove they are real? It would revolutionise humanity and open new avenues for science to explore. This is a good site on Uri and has links to details of some of his lawsuits and claims. Interestingly this site says that Uri claimed he can't turn his power on and off. Maybe he's now found a way

Would starsigns pass his test? There are plenty of people on this forum that would argue they work. If they do then we should all believe Uri..........

Uri is an entertainer, hardly a fraud. Its like saying Father Christmas is a fraud, David Copperfield is a fraud etc etc.
I can imagine him being a good at talking to people in groups because of his calming voice. He has a positive outlook on life but then again with his wealth I dont see why he should not!. |

Carefull, he might sue if you call him that If he'd admit he was an entertainer and stop calling himself a psychic then you would be right. However he takes it all very seriously, including his belief that his powers are real and no trickery is involved |

Nah... he's got by by spooking ppl into believing he is in contact with something powerful and paranormal, and too many ppl fall for it hook line and sinker. I don't think the other tribal members are that impressed either.

Originally posted by JRWood so wrong. David Copperfield is a magician - he actually claims to have you fooled. I've seen him in action, and he is miles ahead of Uri. Uri makes claims that he has some special abilities, that he taps into some universal powers to do his own brand of magic. It's rubbish, and that makes him a fraud. They sey him up once on tv, and showed him to be just that. In his defence he said his paranormal powers told him that he was being set up. Fraud. Nuff said.
