Of course I didn't have a damn clue who he was ... I just copied and pasted into the address bar and the autosearch kicked in and up popped the dreaded "SClub7" and I couldn't bear to look any further

So is he the blonde muppet, the black guy or 'the other one'? I suspect he's 'the other one' ... am I right?

Of course, if you'd asked about Rachel Stevens then I could tell you all about her webbed toes

I bet you top dollar tonight, that we'll see him try to 'council' her before this maggot shower things, worming the tendrils even deeper into her psyche.”

Uri Geller has made himself a rich man by claiming powers which he knows cannot ever be scientifically substantiated. He cannot be proven to be a fraud, but c'mon. The fact he said he will not be using his powers to advantage is as said before - he can't because he has none... he just knows his psychology. People are very easily duped and that is how many people make a fortune. You can fool some of the people etc.

The man is quite plainly a Jedi, just like those 70,000 Australians claimed to be on their census forms (or whatever). Real name is probably Uri-wan.

Luckily for the other celebs, Jedi mind powers only work on the weak minded, so they're all perfectly safe.

He's a cute operator (in the Irish sense - no way is he 'cute') he assesses his targets and allows them to divulge far too much of themselves thus making a "psycho" analysis possible. FYI, I've been active for years in palmreading and so forth for fun and am only too aware of the openings allowed by the subjects. I'm also very aware that subjects are often gullible and so make an effort to demystify the process. Funnly enough, I often seem to be bang on.
The fact that he has a certain reputation should not allow him to set himself up as an alternative practitioner - he's a charlatan

They all aren't being themselves.......

Nigel isn't being a boxer.
Christine isn't being an MPs wife
Rhonna isn't being funny
Uri isn't using psychic powers
Tara isn't being a snob
Darren isn't singing
That DJ bloke isn't talking mindlessly
Nell isn't having the camera pinted at her for some reason.

Well James Randi and others have called him a fraud, and Uri has lost all his lawsuits against them. If memory serves, he sued Randi in multiple countries and Randi had to hand out the hat to fellow skeptics and scientists to help fund the numerous cases.

His powers can be scientifically substantiated. The JREF has a million dollar prize for anyone who can demonstrate their powers in a proper and controlled test. No one has ever passed it, and surprisingly few people take it - that includes Uri. If he does have powers then why dosen't he take the opportunity to prove they are real? It would revolutionise humanity and open new avenues for science to explore.

This is a good site on Uri and has links to details of some of his lawsuits and claims. Interestingly this site says that Uri claimed he can't turn his power on and off. Maybe he's now found a way

Would starsigns pass his test? There are plenty of people on this forum that would argue they work. If they do then we should all believe Uri..........

Uri is an entertainer, hardly a fraud. Its like saying Father Christmas is a fraud, David Copperfield is a fraud etc etc.

I can imagine him being a good at talking to people in groups because of his calming voice. He has a positive outlook on life but then again with his wealth I dont see why he should not!.

Carefull, he might sue if you call him that

If he'd admit he was an entertainer and stop calling himself a psychic then you would be right. However he takes it all very seriously, including his belief that his powers are real and no trickery is involved

so he would... the payments on his mansion are probably pretty hefty. An entertainer? Nah... he's got by by spooking ppl into believing he is in contact with something powerful and paranormal, and too many ppl fall for it hook line and sinker. I don't think the other tribal members are that impressed either.

so wrong. David Copperfield is a magician - he actually claims to have you fooled. I've seen him in action, and he is miles ahead of Uri. Uri makes claims that he has some special abilities, that he taps into some universal powers to do his own brand of magic. It's rubbish, and that makes him a fraud. They sey him up once on tv, and showed him to be just that. In his defence he said his paranormal powers told him that he was being set up. Fraud. Nuff said.
