Infra-red remote extenders

Does anyone know whether infra-red remote control extenders
work with the DHD4000? I have seen some references to peculiarities with this remote control, and wonder whether it uses IrDA rather than plain old-fashioned infra-red.

I use a 2.4g video sender which includes remote control extender in the bedroom at home, I use the original thomson remote through the extender and a one for all in the living room where the thomson lives and it all works fine.

Well I have a infra-red extender I use with mine, however it is slightly tempermental...

Although it is difficult to tell whats to blame the Thomson, the remote or the extender. Anyway I know that the STB button seems to bring the box out of standby better than the power button.... Anyone else find that?

I have a One For All video sender. This has a infra red transmitter built into the sender and also a "magic eye" infra red extender which is on a trailing lead. To make it work though, I have to tape the magic eye over the Thomson's IR window. Even then it does not always respond to a command.
