Hooray for Dangerous Heretics! Tara almost won my respect for squaring up to the shower of bugs, but lost it again when I saw that she wasn't even standing under them - I'm sorry, but having them poured down your back and having them poured over your head are two different challenges!

Rhona, though, has disappointed me too. I adore her stand up, but she is overdoing the grumpy, IMHO. She's coming across as completely inflexible and aggresive, and starting to get on my nerves (and obviously the nerves of the other campers!) But I think it's probably not PMT, the opening montage on the first show had a friend of Rhona's warning that she is incredibly grumpy when she isn't getting enough sleep. So she's obviously prone to be like this. And I think people need to stop obsessing on the lesbian thing (the campers, that is), because it's not something that affects her personality, it's just part of who she is, like Christine is an over-50.

Why do people keep saying Christine is over 50? I heard her say that she is "knocking" fifty, which means she's in her late forties, doesn't it? She doesn't look over fifty.

I read that she was 52 - she still looks good on it.
Perhaps it's the wine that's preserving her.

I too read she was born in 1949 - so 52. Not that I'm knocking her at all, far from it - she's fabulous, IMHO! Just that her age is as irrelevant to her attitude as Rhona's sexual preference, and I wish they'd stop going on about it like she's some sort of morphing alien!

A woman who lives near me has just raised lot of money for charity by abseiling down the tallest building at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford - and she is 80 years old and legally blind.

The only abseiling lesbians I can remember, though, are those ones who invaded the House of Lords a few years back...

You know I didn't know of Rhona before this show started & when I watched the first episode I thought she was going to add some life to it, she really made me laugh etc... I have to admit that I have cringed a bit as she argued, thinking "no please dont - everyone will just hate you for it"
I think there's an awful lot we're not being shown, partly because (as others have said) Rhona's sexuality has been brought up on numerous occasions. Whether Rhona has a chip on her shoulder, or whether Nigel & others have been making snide comments, we may never know, but I definately think there's more to all this than meets the eye.
We must not forget that the TV company wants viewers & they will attract viewers by any means.
If there is nothing hidden, then it certainly looks like Rhona is being a pain. I still don't think it's that cut & dry though... I think Rhona is just comfortable with telling people when they are being unfair etc... (& let's face it, Both Nigel & Tara are not going to be used to being told!). Sure the arguments are over petty things, but things that seem petty to us - out there they are now quite important issues - Rhona is standing by her beliefs & values, and she's not in the slightest bit two-faced.
I still like Rhona (and am not keen on either Nigel or Darren), and amazingly like Tara more than I thought I would - although I'm starting to think she's manipulative & knows exactly what she's doing! I'm going to give Rhona the benefit of the doubt & continue to support her, she's just one of these people that doesn't "play the game" - you know the one, the one where you act all girlie, flirty & silly so all the guys like you! & unfortunately, people who don't play this game are never very popular with guys like Darren.
So, let's wait & see what tonight brings & whether being 'buried alive' makes her more or less popular? BTW, I didn't like the way Tara sat & smirked when Rhona's name was called out, especially after how supportive Rhona was of Tara.

Oh, & as for the pint of milk thingy? Yep, Rhona was a bit of a bad loser. I think she's concerned now about being disliked & was worried that they'd all hate her for getting it wrong...? If they're not careful, by the end of the week, Rhona is not going to be saying anything... :'(
