I've nothing but admiration for Christine Hamilton. No moans or groans, a constant smile and helpful hand - plus great support to anyone in need. If I was stranded anywhere like that, I'd want Christine there, I'd feel totally safe.

A far cry from the law courts and personal plights she's had to deal. I'm going with Christine as my lead favourite - bring on the snakes and bugs - they'll flee at the sight of her!

She is a bit naughty though .... too eager to help the boys with their undressing - and tucking them in! Must be her time of life.

I wouldn't say 'Christine Rocks' but like I said in another thread, I am starting to respect her more each day. She is the only sensible person there, everyone else is is a nut or is a little nutty!

Agreed - she is the perfect leader for Chaffinch patrol (you can take the girl out of the Girl Guides, but you can't take the Girl Guides out of the girl).

Now, now Fae - I think she's just a natural born flirt with an eye for a nice set of abs - she was certainly inspecting Darren's very closely. In fact, we were getting perilously close to bj territory - and I bet she does that very efficiently ,too (don't think you can get a badge for it in Guides, though, as far as I can remember.)

I just love the way she carries on as if this is what she does most weekends!

It can't be easy for a woman way over 50, she's bound to have a certain amount of aches and pains which sleeping rough won't help. She has a great personality - good on her.

Having supported Christine she then made that throw-away comment about Nigel being hungry enough to eat Tara!

I know only too well that this is the sort of comment which just isn't even noticed in the Hamilton's circles but Nigel didn't look a happy man!

Also when Tara said if she was voted again she would get her passport Christine said something like 'Oh have some fair play Tara' which wasnt that nice.

I love Christine!

Actually, this evening, towards the end, when she and Nell were sitting together, I thought they looked like Mother and Daughter... it was kind of weirdly sweet!

actually christine said " i think the public will have a sense of fair play towards you tara ".. i think she was trying to appease tara, which was nice and more than the others did.
i like her and her jolly hockey sticks attitude..

I agree totally... she just doesn't seem to be phased and is ready to defuse a tense situation with a bit of a laugh! As for age, I agree there too... she could go into all the reasons why she feels unwell etc etc, but she just seems to get on with it like a real trooper. Hurrah for Christine!

Did anyone see the Lou Therouix show with Christine and her famous husband?. I thought they were both great and very unique/interesting couple. Anyone who missed it should look out for a repeat showing. Considering how much both of them have gone through they take life in a very unusual way but Christine seems to be a very genuine and nice person.

That was an eye-opener. I'm glad I saw it as I had imagined her as an hysterical, blame-it-on-everybody-else type. She's a real trouper and Neil is a lucky man. I hope she wins (or Tara!)

I heard this as "Nigel told Tara if she didn't do the trial he'd have to eat her instead". Christine was just quoting Nigel when being asked about Tara's successful task by the cameraman/producer.

Christine is the one keeping it all together over there...hope she wins!

Ive always been a supporter of Christine Hamilton, always enjoyable to watch, why someone doesnt give her a chat show? I think Tara is also winning support, funny how these two were going to be the most unpopular, hope one of the wins.

Don't make me laugh. She is an absolute twit.

It's all an act, she knows exactly how to play up to the cameras/blokes/girls/anyone who might influence votes/opinion of her and her god awful husband. I'm just waiting for her to turn on the waterworks a la L. Therouix. Perhaps that'll happen if someone gives her a mirror one morning!

I think if the editors were slightly more honest and focussed their attention on this uber bint when the conversations turn towards awkward subjects (Lesbianism etc) we may see the real C Hamilton.

Remember this woman had to be fully aware of her husband's acceptance of the bungs he received.

Don't be fooled.

And?

Even if he did (which of course he still denies) then what was she supposed to do? Divorce him? Don't make me laugh!

She is what she is ... she does what she does. We'll judge her on what we see in the absence of any other evidence. If that's being 'fooled' then so be it

And?

He took cash for questions. If she knew then she was complicit, she is a criminal. And given the nature of their relationship - she definitely wears the trousers. Then the "innocent girl" act, oh she's so hard done by, it just doesn't wash.

She's just an old, attention seeking, bigotted soak - hic!

"If"

If my auntie had bollocks she'd be my uncle

So 'if' I understand correctly your theory is that because she seems to dominate Neil in their relationship then she pulls his strings in his political life.

And so because my wife tells me what to do at home she also advises me on exactly what radiation dose to give my radiotherapy patients.

Er ... no she doesn't. Nuff said.

As I said ... I'm trying to do her (and the others) the honour of judging them based on the evidence. On that basis she's 'old' (ish!) but neither attention-seeking nor bigoted nor a soak (and YES I know they haven't been given much booze yet!) What she has been is resourceful and supportive.

I'm happy to wait and see if she'll turn out to be a monster ... you don't seem to be :'( I thought I'd hate TPT and DD but I don't ... maybe you could give CH a chance. Go on Just for me

I was quite amazed by the sheer optimism of her comment to Tara about "I think the Great British Public has a better sense of fair play than that" especially after what she & her husband have been through, deservedly or not. If I was her I think I'd be extremely cynical about the GBP!
Glenghis

I don't think CH is a monster. I think she and her husband were very weak, and had their heads turned by the flattery and money that was given them.

I think CH appears to have learnt from that experience. We all make mistakes, and she and her husband were punished, correctly, for the mistakes they made.

I wouldn't have wished that tabloid frenzy over the sexual abuse allegations on anyone - at that point, the Hamiltons were everyone's favourite target. To come out of that with a sense that the tabloids and the GBP are separate things, and to be able to maintain your humour and sense of fair play is no small thing.

If we were all continually condemned for mistakes we had made once, nobody would ever be able to be seen as a good person. Putting it another way; even those you see as good people will have horrific secretes in their closets.

To continue to punish Christine for something that happened in the past is just not on.
