I agree with forgiveness - once sinners have atoned...The Hamiltons have not as yet been able to raise any money to pay off the fines/legal costs awarded against them by the courts. They are apparently stony broke!

Funny how she still lives in their nice flat in London when not in the country mansion (all supposedly paid for from an MP's salary). If it were you or me, we would be renting for the next 10 years!

Also, you may remember the couple were "saved" from the allegations of a sex-attack accuser last year by the receipts they had from tea and champagne at the Ritz, followed by a trip to Waitrose to collect the £250 of food/booze they needed for a dinner party that night.

They are laughing all the way to the off-shore bank at us "little people" who pay our taxes and our debts, and live honestly. Has either of them ever said "Sorry"?

I must have missed that shot of them putting the money into the envelope marked "offshore bank" and laughing into the camera

I suspect that this is what you imagine them doing because you've decided you don't like them (which is fair enough if that's how you feel). Do you dislike them that much that it's really necessary to make up imaginary behaviour for them??? And who exactly should they be aplogising to? You? Me? If you need an apology then that's fair enough ... I don't ... not even from really bad people let alone Neil Hamilton.

AFAIK they're not laughing at anyone . She's had to reap the whirlwind for whatever he did in his political career and although she's clearly not everyone's cup of tea she seems to me to have plenty of likeable qualities. Give her a break, FFS

As regards money ... I'm sure that over the years they've both earned money over and above his MP's salary that they could have invested to enable them to own property. And it's a big house but hardly a mansion! Now beermonster's house IS a mansion, I've heard

The country mansion is being sold, if it hasn't been already, to try and pay off the debts. The flat in London, while not a council flat, is not that large. By going on Celebrity Survivor, Christine is raising her profile which will enable her to earn more money to continue to pay off the debts.

What's your problem?

I seems a public flagellation for the 'sins' of her husband is the minimum required demonstration of contrition

I know what you mean ... but I think there will still be plenty of scope for misdeeds even with her there. Watching her boss the guys about is too good to miss

Are you going to form a splinter group?

I came here because I thought the forum was about the Celebrity Survivor programme. Would be lovely to stick to that. The Select Committee House of Commons report is online if you really want to know details of the Hamiltons bank accounts etc. Also their credit card spends.

If you do a search on Jonathan B Hunt you can get information on the 1997 scandal. Incidentally I think the Waitrose bill (printed in the Sunday People at the time was about £37) - like things to be accurate.

Please let's get back to the fun of the jungle.

With the best will in the world things do tend to get off-topic on most Digital Spy forums. This seems to be the way that they and everyone likes it given that it's pretty rare for a thread to get closed down for going OT on here.

Sometimes (although not necessarily in this case ) the further the threads go off-topic the better (i.e. more interesting) they get.

To be fair to the people who are giving CH a hard time for what's happened in the past, the GBP are being asked to vote for who they want to win. If people believe that she has a case to answer in terms of past events having a bearing on her 'good character' then I think they're perfectly at liberty to express their opinion in the forum (even if I disagree with their points!).

If it's really an issue for you then there are plenty of other threads here to play in

Anyhow ... welcome to the forum

Don't make me laugh. She is an absolute twit.

It's all an act, she knows exactly how to play up to the cameras/blokes/girls/anyone who might influence votes/opinion of her and her god awful husband. I'm just waiting for her to turn on the waterworks a la L. Therouix. Perhaps that'll happen if someone gives her a mirror one morning!

I think if the editors were slightly more honest and focussed their attention on this uber bint when the conversations turn towards awkward subjects (Lesbianism etc) we may see the real C Hamilton.

Remember this woman had to be fully aware of her husband's acceptance of the bungs he received.

Don't be fooled.

Can I just mention that your name is the worse sign in name I have ever read in all my time in forums - and trust me - I'm one of those sad pratts who can spend all day in them - so I've seen a few.

And another thing what are all the smiley faces about? Dude everytime I start to read anything you've written I get totally put off by the :'( crap going on.

Anything you've said which might have made sense and or been a good point is instantly dumbified and its just plain old geeky.

Ive always been a supporter of Christine Hamilton, always enjoyable to watch, why someone doesnt give her a chat show? I think Tara is also winning support, funny how these two were going to be the most unpopular, hope one of the wins. ”

Christine did have a chat show. I'm sure it centred round a red velvet couch - on a boat if I remember correctly. I didn't see much of it because the timing conflicted with something else I was watching, perhaps it will be repeated - if she makes an impression on this series.

In the LT documentary they were preparing to sell the house in the country in order to pay off their debts.

Can I just mention that that yours is one of the best sign-in names I've seen on the internet?

Euphonious, meaningful, and deeply expressive of your inner character, which is obviously why you chose it.

Ignore hostile and discourteous illiterates; if they put as much effort in to spelling their posts correctly, and expressing themseleves politely, as you did in to choosing your delightful name, then this forum would be an altogether better place...

Hmmm ... now that's what I call an opening post! Would you walk into a mosque and accuse everyone of being Muslims?

Welcome to the forum ... I look forward to hearing all your excellent views.

Unfortunately I have to go now but I look forward to learning all your tips to drag myself out of mugdom tomorrow morning. And of course coming to grips with your unique grasp of language and grammar.

Thats exactly right Squidlion, it's not an English word its a Name as opposed to 'Hi I got a name which is an overly long word which means an overly long word - how witty is that?' NOT.

Nobody likes a clever dick - spesh not a cheesy one at that. :'(

FYI: your smiley faces really did brighten my day. Catch you later.

Ta for the support. I am feeling rather intimidated (ahem) ...

I actually chose the handle because it *kinda* literally translates as 'a foot and a half' which reflects the contents of my underpants.

Not. Alas.

"Nobody likes a clever dick" - you must be joking! You can't move for them (cheesy or otherwise) on these forums (fora for Cybele) , as you'll find out if you hang around.

Cheery-bye!

shu shu, if I'm not mistaken, is the name of one of the Giant Pandas at the San Diego Zoo.

Too many bamboo shoots on an empty stomach can cause irritability and aggressive behaviour

ps thanks for the fora - proper conjugation does it for me every time...

And?

He took cash for questions. If she knew then she was complicit, she is a criminal. And given the nature of their relationship - she definitely wears the trousers. Then the "innocent girl" act, oh she's so hard done by, it just doesn't wash.
”

Can anybody remind me if any cash for question allegations against Mr Hamilton were actually proven? I seem to recall Martin Bell becoming uncharacteristically quiet when Christine challenged him to spell out exactly what Neil had done wrong!

In any case taking money for questions - although a breach of Parliamentary rules - isn't a criminal offence of any kind. Which is just as well seeing how many "Parliamentary advisors" and Union sponsored MPs are merrily lobbying away.

The real trouble with cash for questions is that the link isn't registered. Either no MPs should be sponsored, paid advisors, non-executive directors etc or all the various forms of outside income should be acknowledged as legitimate and properly regulated - preferably by an independant, properly funded full-time commissioner.
