But still no ability to use different tones/message alerts for different profiles.
I cant believe they dont see this as important. Ruins the whole phone for me.

I've tried to update mine and it says "No Update Available" i have been reading the thread that gives Firmware info for the K750i on Esato.com Forums and they're saying that the network operator has to allow the firmware update first, which O2 hasn't done yet, which explains why mine wont update yet.

Updated my W800i today, and the call quality seems better and more importantly the music transfer actually works properly now. Thank you for the info WordLife.

I've heard that the w800i firmware can be installed on the k750, is that true?

Not that it really matters, as they are virtually the same phone anyway.

I've updated my K750 through SEUS. It's only done it to R1AA008 though.

Do Orange have to allow the firmware update before it was let me install it?

Yep the new firmware updates for branded versions of SE phones compatible with SEUS have to be approved by the network operator that the phone is branded by before the update can be downloaded... so that means yes Orange do have to approve it first

Cheers

Any idea how long it normally takes for them to allow the updates to go through?

Perhaps it's me being thick but could someone who's updated the w800i clarify something for me.

I've downloaded the update software and installed it and got to the bit where it tells you to:
Turn off, remove sim card, replace battery, press C and plug in cable.
However, when I do this all I get after the Start Menu asking to pick whether I want music or phone functions is the Insert SIM message on the mobile. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need a special cable or am I okay using the data/USB cable that comes with the phone?

Hope someone can help.

You need to update the most recent drivers from your phone from www.sonyericsson.com/support
Then, your phone shouldnt switch on

I have to admit it took me a while to be able to update it. The instructions on SEUS are....well a bit crap to say the least.

Still not having any luck. Downloaded and installed the latest drivers on the PC but phone still switches on when holding C and plugging in the USB cable.

Try downloading the older version of the SEUS. That's what I had to do.

Didn't work when I did my Orange phone. Branding is still there. I'm guessing it'd be the same for O2?

To find out which firmware revision your phone currently has installed, perform the following:

>*<<*<*

Where < and > represents pushing the joystick left and right respectively.

i have an 02 750i,which would not upgrade so i went to Davinci
paid 10 euros which de-branded the phone and installed up to date software (r1bc002) which cured the very annoying ticking and hissing noise in the earpeice.and generally made the phone faster....

ps i paid £149 for the phone so it is still a lot cheaper than a sim-free model.

What's Davinci? Is it an unlocking website? If so could you post or PM me the address please?
