My dad recently got into dvd for the first time, upon my recommendation. Not been a good introduction for him as he bought the latest Wharfdale 750 player from tescos 4 weeks ago. He,s just bought The Gladiator disc, and the extras disc refuses to play.locks up completely with no button/remote access possible. It plays in my Samsung 709 okay and my own Gladiator disc plays in mine but not his.

If memory serves the two disk Gladiator R2 release had problems with the extras disk on some DVD players when it was first released, Wharfdale was one brand.
There was a re-issue of the second disk which would have been mastered differently, I'm sure they had an exchange procedure at the time.

2 questions.

1 - Why bump up an almost 4 year old post?

2 - Why reply to said post with with alink about restaurants?

Whatever happened to JO and the story of the DVD player?

(I was looking for a user on the forum and came across this unusual name if anyone's wondering how I stumbled across their only post)

Was that food site any good?

It's scary to think how far DVD players and technology as a whole has came in the 8 years since this thread was started.

Ironically, 2 years after the OP, a PS2 would have probably played it!
