Well is this just a coincidence, I just found it by accident!

Spoiler
Whilst looking up someone from Life on Mars I came across some interesting info on IMDB. John Simm (Sam Tyler in life on Mars) is a guest in the new series of DW (ep 13)! Playing ......Samuel Tyler!!

Anyone else think this exciting/strange!

Hmm ,
Spoiler
Any relation to Rose Tyler, if it is then this was thought up a long time ago to get the characters in place. Both programmes are made by BBC Wales and I don't imagine they made a happy mistake (serendipity Doctor), or thought this up after Life on Mars was a success, it would be a big coincidence if it was.

it is IMDB so its not exactly confrimed, however he did refrence Doctor Who as if it was a TV show in the show, so fo him to appear in Doctor Who would be odd.

IMDB is not the most reliable of sources. If John Simm had been cast you would have thought DWM would've announced it in their updates on the new series.

Yes, this has pretty much been dismissed as wrong info on IMDB. Remember they has credits for DAvros and suchlike during the last series?

The only Doctor Who crossover I can think of is the SPLINK advert!

(Only people of a certain age will get that! )

actually now I think about it Jackie hearing theDoctor being refrenced in Life On Mars, might be a little strange, and shes always saying Doctor Who.

& yes it would be hard for Doctor Who to crossover with something, the whole christmas invasion storyline pretty much writes out any BBC drama set now.

However the BBCs new Robin Hood series, is a possiblity.

If that turns out to be true, then nobody will be as surprised as I.

My pleasure!

It's amazing how the memory cheats, though - I could have sworn that this was shown while JP was still the Doctor.

I think you could be right (about Todd Carty, not your failing eyesight! )
