Though in all truth who the hell would want to work with Syed, let alone employ him?

Oily, smarmy little git, I loathe his ethics and everything about him.

I loathed Paul too. Another thing they have in common.
I don't think they're anything alike. Paul never actually lied last series like Syed does. He knew when to shut up. When did he brown nose? If he'd brown nosed he wouldn't have been fired, "we're different, Sir Alan" - I can't see Syed saying that. He had a fair point in pointing out Saira was closer to Syed. She was a liar.

Well Syed has finally gone, he put up a good fight in the boardroom but quite frankly he was always going to get fired up against the ruthless Ruth. Anyway I'm left with both my sis and mum in tears after Syed has been fired, is he actually that good looking, perhaps some of you lass's can help me here? Actually on 2nd thoughts perhaps some of you guys can help as well considering Syeds statement on you've been fired...

"there was something there between SAS and me"

lmao!

I was quite sad when Syed went, I didn't cry though! I think some of the abuse that he has received is quite unfair. I thought that he was very entertaining and I think under the arrogance, there is a decent man. I must admit that I do fancy him . He has lovely eyes and is good looking. That is one of the reasons I liked him, I know that is so shallow!

I don't think there is any need for insults. He may tell the odd lie but who hasn't? I cannot understand the vitriol aimed at him, you would think he had commited treason! It is only a tv show and in a few weeks we won't remember any of the candidates.

I don't find him even remotely attractive (from a lass' p.o.v.). He is just the sort of fella I try and stay a gazillion miles away from.

I was so relieved at last night's result - he really deserved to go; his idea was really really crap and the task was just so badly executed!

I agree Muffster the idea was crap last night and he had no chance against Ruth in the boardroom. From a male p.o.v i'm not going to comment on his looks i'm not that way inclined, but I do think he is a trendy dresser!

Sad Syed never stood a chance against Ruthless Ruth .

He deserved to go but I do sincerely hope Ruth doesn't win either. She just doesn't come across as a good person to work with or (God forbid) work for.

I have it on good authoritive speculation in the main Apprentice thread that Ruth doesn't win, although as I said that's not certified as being concrete! Only time will tell and I think Wednesday's show will be quite revealing. I agree that Syed never stood a chance against Ruth, but I think it was the right decision given the circumstances and previous weeks.

Hurrah, the **** has left the building! Although I will admit Syed has been good TV, I am so glad SAS had sense to get rid of him. He was umming and ahing over the decision, and I wouldnt be surprised if he did have the 'Syed=good entertainment' in the back of his mind. The man was just too much in the end, too fake and just felt too slimey IMO.

And i am positive that he would stay a gorilla miles away from you.

In all seriosuness, that was a very sad episode. I am still appalled at the way people portray themselves as never lying, we are human being, and humans being lies all the time. I think Syed is a legend, and he showed the true meaning of business.

Also, i think Syed was the only one who came out on top in that boardroom. You can tell Sir Alan was tempted to keep him on, but because of Ruth's previous performances he had to let Syed go. But if Syed's performace was very good then he would have stayed for definite. It certainly gave that Badger a run for her money. She was eaten alive, not only by Syed, but also Sir Alan. But Sir Alan couldn't keep Syed because of previous perfromance and being in the boardroom too many times went against him. You can tell Sir Alan didn't want to let either of them go, but it was a tough one to call. Just finding out that Syed's team lost i thought that he (and has) would go, but when they got into the boardroom and Syed got one over Ruth i really thought Ruth would have gone then, it was a really nail-biting moment,a nd so intense. But i think Sir Alan did make the right decision judging on previous performance, but i think Nick had to tell him because he was tempted to keep Syed on.

'Business' being or 'human' being, Syed was just very bad at lying. He couldn't even do what comes natural that well. Plus where did his lying actually get him? Lesson to be learnt there - me thinks....

In a last ditch attempt, Syed got personal in the boardroom and tried desperately to portray Ruth as 'losing it' when she clearly wasn't. Again his 'blagging' failed. Syed seemed to exist in his own bubble where he thought everyone else was either stupid or blind.

Sir Alan did not eat Ruth alive - yes he pointed out that she had been slack about the 'rules' of the task, but so what? It wasn't as if Syed hadn't done exactly the same!

Lest we forget, this is a TV show and Sir Alan's deliberations were heavily edited for effect.

I think Sir Alan found Syed hilarious and entertaining - as we all did: after all, Sir Alan is also only human too. But I don't think he ever saw Syed as his next Apprentice especially since Syed had blatantly ignored his advice last week i.e. not to waste time trying to sell new lines to Sainsbury's or B&Q - in a day! You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that this was a non-starter....

I am no fan of the Badger's - Brrrrr - but sadly Syed dug his own business grave.

However, every cloud has a silver lining and I think Syed could be big in Bollywood....

So noe you're gonna say that editing played a part to add effect to Sir alan sadness on syed's exit. You all are bunch of hypocrits. Syed is a human being, he made mistake, like all human beings do. You all come here acting all big calling him names, but i would like to see where half of your life is going other than spending half of your day in the internet talking about syed. At least Syed is a successful entrpreuner, and he has alot going for him, i wonder what you all are doing, cleaning human shit.

You are hilarious, do you know that?

1) It is only a TV show, no need to get so worked up about it, unless you know Syed personally.

2) Syd knew what he was getting into when he signed up for the show, make no mistake about that.

3) Because it is a TV and he put himself out there, we the public can comment any way we like.

4) Just because people spend time on a message board does not mean they are not successful. You dont know anything about the people here, so how can you make that judgement?

5) I would calm it down and stop being rude to people, otherwise someone might hit the alert button again.

Are you really saying that Sir Alan was really, really upset at syed's firing? Well, each to their own... Like I said before, I think he probably liked Syed - like many of us did - but in our own different ways ....some liked his personality (like you), some liked his dress sense, some liked his entertainment value (like me) etc...

Don't get so uptight with other people's OPINIONS - remember that is all they are.

Also, you question why other people are spending time on this site. Well, I like going on this site because it is a bit of fun - simple as that.

What's more, you conveniently overlook the fact that you are also visiting this site! Where does that leave you according to your own theory?

If Syed hadn't been part of this series there is no way it would have been as good. For me he is the character that people will remember and he was the one who made the show entertaining each week with his antics.

Not sure if this is true but a friend of mine who I went to Uni with apparently knows Syed and he told me that Syed as done some consultancy work for SAS since the recording of the show. Perhaps SAS sacked him so he could work for him sooner!!!

This is very plausible as in Series 1, SAS offered jobs to Saira and Paul, as well as the actual winner Tim.

I've said before that it wouldn't surprise me if Ansell got offered work with SAS and I would expect the losing candidate could do too.

However, I have wondered if Paul and Saira only turned down the opportunities they were offered in the hope of furthering their media careers?

On one hand, I'm surprised that SAS has actually offered Syed work, although I can also understand why he did as he seemed to like him!

With SAS offering jobs to the runners up, what is the incentive in winning. If you're what he's looking for, for his company he'll employ you. Probably a lower paying job than the winner, but again if you're good enough that pay will rise

I think it defeats the whole point of the objective ie to win and become SAS's apprentice if SAS goes and employs one of the people he has earlier fired. The beeb should put this into some kind of contract with SAS that stops him from doing this perhaps not permanently but certainly for some period of time after the series has ended.

Paul interview from the Yorkshire Post:
...according to rumours, the Amstrad founder, who clearly had something of a soft spot for Torrisi, offered a job to the runner-up.
"Yes, Sir Alan called me down to London and yes, he offered me a job," he says, happy to confirm the rumours.
"Coincidentally it was the same day my wife gave birth. He wanted me to work for his private jet company Amsair, but he said, 'Paul you're probably going to be inundated with offers and maybe you should come back to me in one or two years time'.
"I've seen him a few times since, his wife bought an outfit for my little girl, and I've been to some of his fundraising events for the Hackney Empire.
"But he was right. The last thing I wanted to do was take the first opportunity I was presented with and then six months down the line think, 'Dam, I could have been doing something so different'. So I took his advice and waited to see what happened.
On Sir Alan's advise it seems.

Well, the Apprentice has a much better job that the other candidates, plus the fact that most if not all of them don't accept it anyway. While have no doubt it'd be a lower salary, it will never equal or better what the actual apprentice earns.
