V3 PAYG on O2 advice needed.

I am considering buying a V3 Black on O2 PAYG from Phones4U for £99. I currently have an O2 Contract SIM in my (very old) Motorola T250. I was wondering if I could just get the phone on 02 from Phones4U and just ignore the PAYG element and swicth SIMs with my old SIM? Will this work as it is on the same network or will it still be locked?

Many thanks.

Hi,

I have just done the same as you and bought a V3 on o2 PAYG and put my contract sim in.. no problems what so ever. This might sound like a silly question but why not upgrade ur contract and get the V3 or even the V3i/x (better version) for free?

I would recommend the V3 anyway i love it. More the size than the software it seems a bit basic not very graphical unlike some new phones now like Sony Ericsson and Samsung.

Another thing some people have moaned about it not having video but i have the V3 Blue which is the latest colour and it has updated software which has the video recording function. Not sure if the black one does?

Anyway go for it becuase the V3 it a wicked phone!

Thanks Glen.

I'm not sure how to go about upgrading. I went on the carphone warehouse site and clicked on upgrade but didnt really understand what I was looking at, so I phoned em up and he said that it was just for Car phone warehouse O2 customers which seemed odd.

Is there a way of just contacting O2, I found nothing on their website.

Once again thanks for your help.

Carphone Warehouse said that becuase you didnt sign up to your contract with them. Who did you sign up to the contract with? Another phone shop or an o2 store?

If you signed up in an o2 store just pop in when your next in town and they will do it all for you - you walk in with an old phone and walk out with a new one!

Same if you signed up in another store just go in that store and they will do the same.
