Just found an article on the official BBC website, here is the link

http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/news/...17/30406.shtml

It says that UKTV Gold's Series 1 Repeats Weekend will be on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th April, suggesting once again of an April 15th start date for Series 2 on BBC One

When I first saw the title of this thread, I though you meant the Hartnell Series 1.

So did I.

I doubt I'll watch them, they have been repeated to death already and I have the Box set. Only afew of them I would sit and watch time and time again, such as "End of the world", "Fathers Day" and "Dalek".

The others, although I do like them I couldn't sit and watch them again for a wee while yet.

Yeah, I'd prefer people to refer to the actor or Doctor no. because I consider Hartnell to be series one. Basically its the 9th Doctor, Eccleston's series or the 2005 series. To call it series one conflicts with the fact that he is Doctor no 10.
But maybe thats nit-picking,

I think it is, seing as the BBC are selling the box set as Series 1.

Season 1 is Hartnell's first year. Series 1 is Eccleston's year. It's not really that hard, is it?
