Hi,

I have a contract with T mobile and need a phone upgrade.
Can I buy a T Mobile pay as you go phone and simply put my contract SIM card in it?

Yeah thats fine

Tmobile dont let you upgrade your phone until you are in the last month of your contract.

You could always look on eBay for a T-Mobile handset... they tend to not go so high in price if sim-locked, which wouldn't bother you as you're already with T-Mobile.

to be honest, with all the 'cashback' deals at the moment it works out cheaper to get a new phone on contract, and get a brand spanking new phone for free....

which phone did you have in mind?

Hi, thanks for the replies.

I have a Sony Ericsson T610 but the battery lasts about 10 minutes and the joystick is dodgy. I just want something cheap and chearful to make do, so was thinking of a £25 - £30 payg jobby - not bothered about fancy extras. The ones on eBay, do you think they will be ok, like not old stock with poor batteries?

You can get a really cheap Sagem or Nokia 1100 for next to nowt in most stores and at least you'd get a warranty with it.
