I was a HUGE fan of BB1 BB2 and indeed most of BB3. Why? Well I thought it was as close to reality TV that we are going to get. Also to see the human interaction, unscripted tv etc. However , the number one reason was that I felt that ANYTHING could happen. This belief was upheld when I saw Jade going ballistic , being turned into a hate figure etc. This was truly cutting edge stuff , but that all changed after Brett-Gate. Yes I will still watch , but not with such enthusiasm , since I know that if things do get out of hand ( in the producers eyes ) they will pull the plug and make the majority of the watching public change their minds. For what its worth , if things had gone "naturally" Jade would have came out to a huge chorus of Boos , sold her story to the sun , got on with her life and that would be that ..... big deal! They should have let it go , after all the whole point of the show was to have NO outside influences .... or am i missing something?

True - That changed it all - She was told exactly how to behave and got the best bit of editing you could hope for. That mother of hers must have been kicking up quite a fuss.....

The shouting over the wall had also a lot of influence in giving them an insight about how the public perceived them. That made a big difference in comparison with previous years.

The screening process allowed some wannabes to go through and that is (in my opinion) against the initial concept of BB. The media circus has transformed BB into a platform for quick celebrity and a show business career.

I think you underestimate the impact of coming out to such hatred would have had on Jade. For that reason I agree with what Brett & co did. This is a gameshow afterall. Having said that it would have been a travesity had Jade won, but she didn't.

The fact that the producers decided that Jade needed help, suggests that she shouldn't have been put in the house in the first place.

And I concur, Isolated means Isolated. No Tennis Balls,Videos,Phone calls,Cards.

The Guardian describing Jade as "vulnerable" ranks alongside the stupidest tabloids for sheer naivety.

If you give one HM coaching, then you would have to give all of them coaching, otherwise one has a massive advantage over others. I think some of the HM's, particularly Kate, suspected that Jade was being given preferrential treatment.

Jade was evicted from the auditions. Putting 2+2 together, I'd say that the Producer's deliberately put Jade into the House to antagonise and cause conflict.

I do disagree with you about your comment here about my underestimating the impact. If you take Nasty Nick from BB1 , he was also hated ( named the most hated man in britain at one stage ) but after a few weeks everything was ok again. Hes doing fine now! (Most)People do realise after a while that yes it is a game show. I think I will watch BB4 , but only when there is nothing else on , I cant bring myself to believe that it is isolated. I mean how do we know that they are not being coached more subtly all the time?The only reason the viewers copped it this time was the fact that the change was SO dramatic.

Nick Cheated, pure & simple He was mature enough to know what he was doing, got caught, disqualified & left by the back door.

Jade would have been evicted, & come face to face with a raging mob. Her crime, being a bit thick, cruel ( to Sophie ) & playing the game badly. Physically she's 10 years younger than Nick, Emotionally it's closer to 20 ( Dispite being "robust" enough to go in the house)

I'm 34 & I'm a lot stronger in character & more mature than I was 10 years ago. People grow up alot in their 20s. Nick had that development behind him, Jade has yet to go through it.

She shouldn't have been there if she needed special treatment. She was only one year younger than Kate byt the way, it's not like she really was the baby of the house......

Jade was chosen because they wanted a loudmouth female bermondsey gob in the house. IMO they made a fundamentally incorrect choice.

To be fare each HM should have a chance of winning. Jade never did.

Jade had a better chance of winning AFTER her chat with Brett at the half way stage. When she came out of her chat with him she was upset and surprised at the way she had be coming across to the viewers....now isn't that news from the outside world, which is against BB rules. It really did make Jade re-evaluate her situation and actions giving her a bit of an advantage. We don't know what was said to the other housemates but just because you are not perceptive enough to know what is going on why should she have help.
