What are your favorite sad songs? When you sometimes down and feel like listening to a sad song.

Top 5 for me:

Damien Rice - Eskimo
Damien Rice - Cannonball
Delta Goodrem - In my own time
Jimmy Eat World - Hear You Me
Coldplay - In my place.

You dont have to do a top 5 but name a couple...

Oddly enough, a Dave Edmunds song from way back in the day, called "One more night" on the album DE7th. Just his vocal and the piano.

I'm too tired to stand up, I'm too drunk to sleep,
Don't know how I'm gonna get home
I've said all my goodbyes, I'm trying to keep
From spending the evening alone
And I miss you at the door when I forget my key
I wish you would come back, I'm down on my knees
It all seems such a shame, 'cos I still see your light
And I wish I could come back and stay one more night

Haven't you heard "Don't hit a lady"?
Kickin' your ass would be a pleasure
Other noteable mentions:
Meatloaf- Heaven can wait
Michael Bolton- When I'm on my feet again
Papa Roach- Scars
Prince- Purple rain

Hmm mine change every day but today I would have to say (based on situations and words and what the song meant to me at certain times) :

If You're not the one - Daniel Bedingfield
Say goodbye - S Club 7
Suddenly - Billy Ocean
End of the road - Boyz II Men
On bended knee - Boyz II Men
The drugs don't wrok - The Verve
Same script different cast - Whitney Houston/Deborah Cox
I'm going down - Mary J Blige
Dance with my father - Luther Vandross
Hello - Lionel Richie
My all - Mariah Carey
Against all odds - Phil Collins

I tried to keep it at 5 but it never ends up like that!

I guess it depends on the circumstances the song is played in, but I think Bette Midler - You are the Wind Beneath my Wings and Evanescence - My Immortal. I think there are others, but that's what springs to mind right now.
